2017 RSA Chase

Yeah. Nicky will be smiling after watching that.

Champers on Ice looks like he needs further than four miles already :devilish:

^ Yep

Just took 33/1 for Royal Vacation too.... 14s with 365 and 33s with Sky...

Massive boost for Might Bite there, i would be piling into him if i knew he was certain to take part.. damn u Nicky!

I have been hovering over the button on mite bite for weeks, Nicky said he may not of gotten over the fall mentally from Boxing Day.. If you think the time/run was a fluke.. Today proved it wasn't.. If Nicky came out tomorrow and said he runs here.. He'll go off fav

I think people would need to see him jump around again before he was made fav against a Mullins/Walsh fav with form in the book?

I think Hendo is sure to run Might Bite if fit. Must be one of the most exciting horses he has based on what we've seen today?

Any news on where his next start might be.. It's ok saying a Mullins/Walsh favourite but all they ever beat are half baked donkeys out for a jog.. How many novice chasers will clock a quicker time than the King George.. Then the horse he was beating 25L come out and win 12L next time.. Agreed he'll need to run again and get round

I agree that Bellshill shouldn't be fav ... but I would quite like the bookies to have it that way :)

Annoyingly, William Hill don't have this race priced up at the moment. I'm interested to see how they price Mite Bite up Nrnb.

6/1 ... just checked the website and they market is up. Not sure why it isn't being pulled through on OC?

Do we think Alpha Des Obeaux still has a chance in the RSA?

I'd have a read back through this thread Mon Brav ... A LOT of lose for ADO here .... I went in again not so long ago.... (I have also backed Might Bite 12s, Royal Vacation 33s, Aux Ptit Soins (ha) 14s) but Alpha Des Obeaux would be my biggest return.

Me and Might Bite aren't friends with you anymore.

I think Pobbles Bay has a good chance today, I want COI to be chasing him home one-paced so I can load up on the Moon Racer, COI Day One Double :D

So seems I owe you an apology on Mite Bite haha! (in truth I had actually missed him off the list and glanced at him as an Irish hope for some reason)

I have him in the EW yankee but time to get involved on him after the form boost. After the slightly positive/slightly negative quotes from Henderson Friday the NRNB is certainly the way to go for myself, especially considering how cautious the trainer can be

Hi guys, been reading the forum for a while but thought I'd join in leading up to Cheltenham.

I'm very keen on ADO too... Connections were pretty bullish last year before the World Hurdle and he ran a huge race behind Thistlecrack. Not worried about his form so far this season as he has one target and I'm sure Mouse Morris will have him A1 on the day.

Bleeding lto really wasn't ideal and it could happen again (hopefully not), but at 16/1 I think he's a fabulous bet! :encouragement:

Makes sense to go NRNB at this stage.

Bellshill has an entry for the Flogas Novice Chase in Ireland and that usually has some good horses in.... I quite fancy the chances of 3 of the horses I've backed... at their prices .... but am a little concerned about Bellshill not being covered at all. 4/1 seems too short to me, although I don't know why.

Welcome Johar, I agree with everything you say. :encouragement:

Welcome mate, I echo what you say with Might Bite being the big challenger if all is okay

I honestly think Bellshill is the worst value of any of the Festival favourites. His Cheltenham record is inexplicably bad;both times on the Old Course. You can argue that 2m in the Supreme wasn't going to suit but he ran poorly; similarly in the previous year's Bumper he was disappointing (even beaten by Bay of Freedom!) It may not even be Cheltenham; it could just be that he's not a good traveller. His runs at Aintree have been much better but the fact remains he is 8/10 in Ireland and 0/4 when he travels to the UK. Despite all of the talk about staying I am not totally convinced that 3 miles really is his trip. He is likely to run in the Flogas but at 2m 5f but it may not answer all of the questions. The only remaining novice race over three miles is the Ten Up at Navan on 19th February. If he turns up in that and wins then it will be down to his liking of Cheltenham and/or travelling.

He's not a horse in keen on either and I'll be against him. I was watching his defeat to Ballyoptic again yesterday and I think if he truly stayed 3 miles he would have won that day. He came traveling better than anything else and just appeared to be outstayed.

Like BoF points out, his record in England, and particularly, at Cheltenham is average to say the least.

Yes record at Punchestown is much better. I love the way this horse jumps but as you say Cheltenham form has to be a major concern.
