2016 Supreme Novices

Buveau Dair looks a proper tool :encouragement:

Long dog andbachasson well clear of the rest in Ireland but could still be a springer ?

Yorkhill at the head of Paddy's betting now...tho could go to Neptune or Bartlett...the guessing game again.

And the mysterious Min out to 14/1 with no money waiting to back on Betfair..

Ruby been on the phone to paddy. Still 8's and 9's with everybody else. Yorkhill 8/1 fav with paddy power now. I thought he looked for the Neptune.

Pleased to have backed Min for this race at 14 and 12s. Was impressed even though didnt beat much.

"The rumours are true!" said Mullins.

"That was two and a quarter miles and he could easily go back to two miles, and I would have no fear of going two and a half.

"He looks to have plenty of gears as I thought they were going a good gallop and yet he took off around halfway.

"He jumped very well for a horse having his first run on an Irish racecourse, and we will plan for something in the New Year.

"The first race that comes to mind is the race that Vautour and Douvan won here next month (Grade Two Moscow Flyer Novice Hurdle)."

Thanks OV. Am I alone in thinking 7/1 is a fair price? When this stable hype one up they are very rarely wide of the mark.

FM - I reckon you deserve a couple of points for guessing which race the horse will run in and a few more for the horse staying healthy over the 14 weeks, 7s could look very silly if he goes out and smashes a G1 field in January but he could just as easily blow up and be held over for later festivals....

not sitting on the monster prices, but I am very happys with my 11s for the supreme.

11s is a cracking price. Will be interesting to get tge Ruby view.

I took some 16's but still tempted to top up over the next few weeks. Trainers are creatures of habit and with WPM having trained Champagne Fever, Vautour and Douvan to win the supreme in the last 3 years, it has got to be heavily odds on that the supreme will be Min's target.

Walsh said: "He did it well. He raced a bit keenly but he had some experience in France so his jumping was very good. He quickened up nicely in the straight to win well in the end. It was only a maiden so you will never know how good he is. We won't know how good he is until all these novices start to meet."

Just throwing it out there as I'm.new to this...
I got told about Min for the Supreme at 50s, didn't back it until it was 25s though but backed it all the way down to 8s in trebles and doubles... Very happy after seeing that race even though there wasn't much depth he never once got asked of ruby and just coasted away I'd love to see what wouldve happened with a shake of the reigns....

Very probably right FM, and maybe it's my cynicism from AP punting over the years that stops me from being positive about the horse, hope I'm wrong.
Two points, he was running over 2m 1f and 2m 2f on heavy ground (as it invariably is at Auteuil) as a 3 year old in Autumn 2014, is there not a chance he could be more of a Neptune horse as a 5yo ?
And what else does Mullins have in the yard ? I had my Mullins stable tour bible pull out swiped at Plumpton a few weeks ago so I don't know what else he night have in the novice hurdle ranks, but are there any others we haven't seen yet ?
I think I read that Min was 50s just a few weeks ago....

Welcome una - nice to see new posters

Min was good but bit of depth this year including in that yard ...Are you all forgetting about Bachasson and Long Dog ?

Also American Tom, Bellshill, Yorkhill and I'm sure there are a couple who he hasn't mentioned yet that will rock up somewhere over the next week or so. A minefield as usual trying to guess where they are being aimed. I took the plunge on Yorkhill and Bellshill to win any race at the festival before they had run
