2016 Arkle Trophy Novices Chase

Flying Bolt was some legend of a horse. Won three different races at successive festivals - a feat not matched until Bobs Worth won the 2014 Gold Cup. Vautour fans can note than one.

Don Poli is hoping to match them also.

I'm a massive fan of both horses but this is a direct result of adding more races to the festival year on year. The fact that Vautour, Don Poli and Cue Card are all running in the same race when trying to win their third different festival race is staggering, and a direct result of adding extra races. How many years so we have to wait until 5 days and further dilution :grumpy:

Bobs Worth did his treble in three Grade1 races and was a magic little horse until he was bottomed. Sir Des Champs could have as easily achieved it coming off the back of wins in the Martin Pipe and JLT which would have been less worthy, Agree with Faugheens point though The Gold Cup should have been round 3 of Bobs Worth vs Sir Des Champs.

I'm not sure how reliable the source is but the following was tweeted at the Wetherby preview tonight:

That would be nice cos I have a 16/1 slip lying around somewhere.

The source should be good :) David Minton.

Mulholland running his two according to Belfast preview.

Neil Mulholland hopes Douvan scares off a few runners and his two, Baltimore Rock and Fox Norton, might pick up a place.

had a small each way bet on Baltimore Rock w/o at 50/1 after reading that Mayo. I'm struggling to find 8 confirmed runners from the entries.

Followed you in Baltimore Rock without Douvan at 50's.
Tried to get on with Betfair Sportsbook and was told max stake was 30p FFS, joke outfit, B365 more accommodating

30p - that is embarrassing! Why do they even bother?!

I'm just on chat with them, my guess is I'll a standard response that says it was a 'trading decision'

It's so frustrating - and the timing couldn't be worse.

Are you heavily restricted by Paddy Power? If so it's maybe a sign of the merger taking effect already

'It looks like your account has been restricted on the sportsbook so you're not able to place large stakes there anymore, however you can still use the exchange without any restrictions'

'You can complain by sending an e-mail to escalations@betfair.com'

I've sent a pointless e-mail and will get a standard response.
I'm really surprised no-one has picked up on this practice and made industry scapegoats of firms who do this.
I've asked for my account P&L and a detailed explanation why I'm restricted, I'd love to be a loser and still restricted, that's the sort of thing some pundits will jump all over, I think once I've had a response I'll write to the Racing Post, as you say a week before Cheltenham is incredible timing

Let us know how this unfolds Ista.

The bet I tried to place was £25 e/w FFS !
I will update when I get a response but my ranting has hijacked this thread for long enough !

Ista - I would also be careful how much you stake or who with at anytime you receive an office tip. These tips circle around the bookies and will flag when you have placed the bet, so your account will be monitored. If they keep seeing you place office bets then I am sure they will be restricted.

Yeah I get that LR, but I don't have regular fixed odds accounts anymore, had these issues with all of them over the years so I now bet with exchange or through my spread betting company who lay fixed odds bets too. it's not a problem I'll have again 'cos I'll never open up another account, there's just no point.
I now have B365 and hope to get one or two yankees on there, failing that I'll do a couple of shop visits as advised earlier.

The point about my account restrictions is that it was put in place after I had two decent winners on Saturday (Sametegal and Shotovodka), strange that any bookie would want to restrict someone a week before Cheltenham when the chances are they'd get it all back with interest !

They have your exchange P&L Istabraq.

Let us know how this unfolds Ista.

E-mail received today:

I understand your frustration with the timing of the restriction but your exchange betting is not effected by this. Your sportsbook activity has been restricted, this was a business decision made by our trading team who are under no obligation to explain their reasons I'm afraid.
Your exchange betting will never be restricted in any way due to it being a 'player-to-player' market. I do apologise for any inconvenience caused by your sportsbook restriction but the decision is final.

Gotta love a helpful customer services team eh ?

Terrible customer service. We are banning you from betting with us but we will not tell you why!

Someone at some stage has to hold these weasels to account!!
