2016 4 miler

I don't think there is anything in it. He's usually on the best horse, therefore he's going to be leading at the last more than any other jockey.

I'll be more than happy to see him clear coming to the last in just over 4 weeks time!

Noble Endeavor could run in the National Hunt Chase. Elliott.

Anyone know what J Codd rides in this ?

I would have thought JP would be keen to secure his services so perhaps the forums old friend Minello Rocco assuming he heads for this ?

Native River is set to have the services of Derek O'Connor when he tackles the National Hunt Chase at Cheltenham.

The Colin Tizzard-trained six-year-old won a Grade Two at Newbury before finishing third at Kempton and Wetherby.

Leading amateur O'Connor won the four-miler at the 2011 Festival on Gordon Elliott's Chicago Grey.

Tizzard said: " In his last two races he hasn't tried too hard and he will almost certainly run in the four-miler. I think we've secured the services of one of the best Irish amateurs in Derek O'Connor, and that's massive.

"We schooled him in cheekpieces before his run at Wetherby, he was jumping deliberately and going everywhere, but then we schooled him in cheekpieces before his run at Wetherby and he went like a good thing.

"We'll either put blinkers or cheekpieces on at Cheltenham to see if they'll make a difference.

"What he does is stay and if it is genuine good to soft ground he's got a wonderful chance."

O'Connor is a huge booking.
There are by my reckoning only around 7 or 8 amateurs who have the ability to get a horse home on these races, when scouring the 20+ runner amateur races you can scrub at least half the field on jockey bookings alone.
In the attachment bitchy put in the whispers thread I'm sure it said that amateurs claiming over 6lb haven't won for something like 10 years or so, also non claiming amateurs have a phenominal record at the festival proving only the better jocks can win races....

Black Hercules has took a massive walk in the market for this and is now being talked about as a possible JLT horse. This would be the final nailed in my ante post coffin, having backed him for this at decent prices and saved on the RSA.

JLT....I mean, surely they are winding us/me up!! :sorrow:

Final Furlong boys say RSA. Already have Shaneshill for JLT ?

Did Black Hercules work after racing??

:sorrow:

It has to be the RSA now, doesn't it? I can't see Shaneshill improving the a step up in trip either.

Listening to Tony Mullins on atr he was very bullish about ROI des Francs if he turns up in this, also More of that, wherever he turns up, wouldn't be here though of course

I like RDF for this if he runs, seems to have gone under the radar really

Southfield Royale – National Hunt Novices Chase – 10/1 or RSA Chase 33/1

“The four-miler would be his target. You would think there was more to come from him the further he goes, he’ll gallop all day.

“He’s by Presenting so should be another one to appreciate the better ground.

“He could have gone to Wetherby [for the Towton Novices’ Chase], but he would have had a real tough race, which a few of them did that day, but now we have a fresh horse going into Cheltenham.

“You’d be hopeful that he would be in the shake-up.”

Does the possible lack of soft ground bother you with SR Yeehaa, I tend to regard him as a horse that needs cut
