Chartbreaker I assume you are talking about the Paul Nichols juvenile which I have highlighted for the Triumph Hdr as I had word from the stable that Chartbreaker, San Bendeto and Old Guard were his best 3yo's and with the first two disappointing and falling short of potential, it does not look good for the former as it looks a vintage crop this year.

Yep that will be the one. Hoping he gets a run before Cheltenham surely they all cant be bad.

Three year olds can be tricky !

Might be a Fred Winter horse

Bouvreuil

Bouvreuil put up a promising performance on his British debut to finish third in the two-mile handicap hurdle at Sandown on Saturday.

Settled towards the rear of the field by talented conditional Sean Bowen, he was a little keener than ideal through the early stages of the race. He was up on the outside of runners, and just appeared to want to go a little faster than his rider wanted him to. His jumping was really fluent however, and he did settle into a nice rhythm by the time they jumped the second flight in the back straight. He moved up to dispute fourth place on the run out of the back straight, he moved up to the front of the main body of the field that chased the three breakaways, but there were still six lengths between the third horse and him, and that was a lot on ground on which it had been difficult to make ground from the rear all day. He still travelled well into the home straight, and he moved into third place on the run to the second last flight, but Rayvin Black and Balgarry also travelled well in front of him and, in the end, he just couldn’t bridge the gap. His early exertions probably took their toll from that point, but he still kept on up the hill to retain third spot, despite landing flat-footed over the final flight.

This was a really promising run. As above, it was a day on which it was difficult for the hold-up horses to make ground and, sure enough, the winner of this race, Rayvin Black, made all, while the third and fourth home, Balgarry and Rock On Rocky, raced handily. In fact, that trio formed the small group that broke away from the main body of the field just about from flagfall. Bouvreuil was the only one who was able to get in among them from the rear.

The Saddler Maker gelding has only just turned four, and this was his British debut and his first run for Paul Nicholls. He should improve for the experience, and he should do better when he learns to settle better, which he should do in time. The handicapper left him on his mark of 133, which is decidedly lenient – he raised the winner by 9lb and the runner-up by 5lb – he performed better than the bare form of the race suggests, and he has the potential to progress significantly now. He will be of interest wherever he goes next.

I see Dessie McDonagh has Fiscal Focus entered in Irish Champion Hurdle - gets plenty of weight but very bold !

He has left him in. Think Eon Giffin tried this with Lounas a few years ago.

Food for thought here ?

Barry Geraghty admits it was a tough decision to overlook Bivouac in favour of Peace And Co i:confused:n tomorrow's JCB Triumph Hurdle Trial at Cheltenham.

Peace And Co created a huge impression on his British debut at Doncaster when ridden by Daryl Jacob, strolling away and jumping in the style of a horse who had run more than once over hurdles in France.

He is one of a handful of exciting juveniles owned by Simon Munir and Isaac Souede, but while the likes of Top Notch, Bristol De Mai and Vercingetorix have been impressive in winning their races, none of them have generated the waves which Peace And Co produced and he is favourite for the Triumph Hurdle itself.

Both Peace And Co and Bivouac are trained by Nicky Henderson so Geraghty had the choice and while Bivouac has more experience, Geraghty was just as impressed as everyone else with Peace And Co on his debut.

"I had a sit on him at home a while ago and schooled him and he was very good," Geraghty told At The Races.

"He's smart and quick at his hurdles.

"I thought he won really well at Doncaster a while back and he's a very exciting juvenile.

"His work was very good before going to Doncaster and he won really impressively.

"I've won two already on Bivouac and I love him also, but Peace And Co looks very exciting."

Dan Skelton saddles Zarib, who was rated in the mid-80s on the Flat for Mick Halford in Ireland and ran out an easy four-length winner on his hurdling debut at Newbury.

"Zarib won nicely at Newbury. The runner-up from Newbury has been beaten subsequently so it doesn't give the form a great look, but Zarib travelled extremely well," said Skelton.

"I think his jumping has improved since (that run) and I am looking forward to getting him out again."

Alan King's Karezak won on his hurdling debut and while he has been beaten on his three subsequent starts, his seconds behind Hargam at Cheltenham and Bristol De Mai at Grade One level at Chepstow give his form a strong look.

"Karezak, who runs in the Triumph Hurdle Trial, bumped into a very good horse in Bristol De Mai at Chepstow, but it his was best run yet and he ran straight this time which was encouraging," the trainer told www.alankingracing.co.uk.

Adding further interest is the Paul Nicholls-trained Ibis Du Rheu, a half-brother to his smart stablemate Saphir Du Rheu.

He was beaten narrowly on his racecourse debut by Henderson's Top Notch when trained in France last term.

Andrew Balding' Storm Force Ten, behind Bivouac twice already, completes the field

I really like the look of Peace and co for the Triumph. I put up Faugheen as my festival banker but had it not been for the poor record of favourites in the Triumph I would probably have gone with P & C, I have backed him, just hoping he continues to improve, he already has a rating that would have won around 37 out of the last 40 renewals.

Barry Geraghty has won more triumph hurdles than anyone so if he is questioning Peace & Cos apparent ( timeform driven ) dominance od the 4 Year old division we might be wise to take notice.

I think he was being nice to owners RC :)

Good educational ride from Geraghty. Shouldnt have had too hard a race and will surely be better of a stronger pace in the adonis.

First wo to Triumph rest to Fred Winter or Aintree ?

Another view ( though the second I presume)

There was a piece with Nicky Henderson on the morning line this morning featuring Peace & Co, he was shown alongside Captain Conan, which is now a workhorse apparently, and he was saying that he just breezes alongside CC on the bridle. The point he made about todays race was that they wanted to educate the horse so that they weren't forced to make all the running at the festival so they would like to be able to settle him and drop him in if they need to. It seemed to go to plan, though the horse pulled quite a bit for his head in the early part of the race which I think makes the overall performance all the more impressive, it will take something special to beat him in my view, and the nearest to him, ratings wise, are aimed elsewhere.

fiscal focus tomorrow will be interesting.

Whats all this blue movement for Peace & Co for Supreme on Oddschecker. Low as 19 on the Exchanges.

L'ami Serge for the neptune? She listed in that race aswell.

Not sure what their Neptune horsw is .., WTF are Gaitway and West Wizard ?

Geraghty seems really positive about P & C, but what about Bristol De Mai, where does that go if not here, surely the owners won't want both in the same race.

I think the Aintree juvenile race is worth more than the Triumph so waiting could be an option but I think both trainers will want to run.
