2015 Triumph Hurdle

Looks like Mullins has got his Triumph horse entered late. Guess hes ready to race.

Petite Parisienne Mayo

mullins ran filly in it last year so maybe his angle now.

Updating racecaller for last year...

Fillies (0-1-10) have gained 1 place ( unaccompanied) from 10 runners in past 11 runnings but haven’t won this since 2000.

it doesn't look like Bristol De Mai will be the one to finish in front of Peace & Co in the Triumph after todays showing, easily brushed aside by Garde Le Victoire and Jollyallan.

Agreed. Maybe being aimed at Fred Winter ?

It appeared that Nigel Twiston-Davies thought BDM ran a good race, when asked about the run he said Garde Le Victoire was rated to finish around 5 lengths ahead of him and he did roughly that. Just goes to show how differently races can be interpreted, but his closing shot was "Don't write him off yet" markets seem to agree with us though, he's been pushed out to 20/1 for the Triumph

Not sure what this means ...

Not going overboard with Hargam on those stats. £20 at 16's will do. Got Top Notch on me side might have another small punt on him. Not the best records for favourite so bound to be value else where.

I think Hargam still a decent bet at 10s with Paddy Power and Ladbrokes.

You are right about taking on the favourite.

10 year favourite stats below:

Fate of the Favourite 3 1 0 2 2 4 4 3 6 4
Winner's Market Position 4 1 2 2 3 3 3 0 2 5

Hargam booked his ticket for Cheltenham with an effortless success in the John Smith's Scottish Triumph Hurdle Trial to give McCoy a quick double.

Settled behind the pace by the champion jockey, he travelled noticeably well throughout and jumped fluently on his third outing over timber.

Nicky Henderson sent him north on a search for better ground and he looked much happier than on his previous outing at Cheltenham, albeit not against the strongest opposition.

Donald McCain's Starchitect, who had chased home the winner's stablemate Peace And Co at Doncaster, gave vain chase but Hargam cruised six lengths clear to land the odds as the 4-11 favourite.

"AP (McCoy) thought it would be a good idea to come here to get him on some nice ground as he won despite of the soft ground last time," said Henderson.

"It's good prize money, the timing is good and we knew we'd get his ground.

"I was very pleased with that and AP was too. He jumped very well and travelled well and enjoyed it.

"I'll talk to JP but I imagine it's straight to the Triumph now, he doesn't need another run.

"Obviously we've got Peace And Co too and we're very lucky to have them both but there'll be more than just him to beat.

"I was really quite impressed to do, they weren't complete mugs he was beating."

Hargam was very good.

He is getting better with every run whereas I dont think BDM and P&Co did much to advertise their credentials last time out. Not sure what to make of the quote from Dazza Jacob saing he didnt think Triumph was BDMs race.

I think DJ may want to keep his retained owner rides apart, not being a stable jockey he'll probably be a little more protective of his good stuff. I know he was really keen on Peace and co so will most likely think that one will be a better ride in the Triumph anyway, plus he said he thought the horse would be much better on good ground, given the rating it's already achieved that could make it hard to beat at the fez if true.

Barry G rides Peace & Co.
