2015 Triumph Hurdle

I agree about the race being tricky to bet on at this stage, I think Timeform have taken an unusually strong view on Peace & co though, they obviously consider him to be exceptional having gained what in most years would be a winning rating for the Triumph hurdle at such an early stage. I think the guys name is Jamie Lynch and he seemed to be suggesting that with normal improvement this horse could be odds on and look like a penalty kick come the last day of the festival, I've had a few quid on him and if Timeform are right I'll think about laying him off if the price drops significantly. I try to that with a lot of the bigger races, get the early value then lay it off as the money comes, it's nice to sit and enjoy the race knowing you make a profit whatever the outcome.

Looks like Nigel might have one too...

Yes old Vic, Bristol de Mai looked impressive, same ownership as Peace & co too, listening to Daryl Jacob after the race though he seemed to think P & c will be the better horse on decent ground, he's the rider for both so his choice nearer the time, if they both turn up, will be a big pointer.

I know he rode both FTO but I'll be surprised if Barry G doesnt have something to say about who gets the first call on Peace & Co...

I understood Daryl Jacob had some kind of retainer with the owners of these two horses, could be wrong though.

Think he gets the pick of everything not ridden by stable jockeys. I could see STD trying to get on Niges too !

What allowance do 4 year olds get in the Supreme ? Hendo on about running some of Munirs horses in it ?

Henderson stated that BDM will probably go straight to the festival whereas Peace & co will run at the Cheltenham trials meeting. If he steps up on what he's already achieved he could be a stone clear of anything else by the time of the Triumph hurdle, and he's already at a rating that would have won the race in all bar about three festivals. Still a horse race of course, but of all the ante post bets he looks to be one of the most compelling.

Would you be worried about ground for peace & co MMG? Would be my only slight concern.

Timeform really really like him though.

Hi Mayo
I would have thought the ground may be a concern for P & C, given how well he travelled on soft, but Daryl Jacob seemed confident that he will be even better on decent ground, I think we've all heard it before though haven't we. Time will tell now, I'm getting pretty excited about the festival already, just hoping my head doesn't explode before we get there.

Peace & co is a silly price now IMO.

If you got on early good luck to you.

Yep. My antepost book needs some redemption but not giving up yet !

It would be interesting to know how the pre-Christmas ante post fav got on in the actual race, I notice second and third favs have a decent record but this could mean that gambles closer to the race left a different fav that failed on the day, just a thought.

I'll try and have a look tomorrow MMG

Need to update this ..pretty sure winner would head market most years http://www.fatjockey.com/cheltenham...am_races.php?Prestbury-Novices-Hurdle-2012-72

Chartbreaker I assume you are talking about the Paul Nichols juvenile which I have highlighted for the Triumph Hdr as I had word from the stable that Chartbreaker, San Bendeto and Old Guard were his best 3yo's and with the first two disappointing and falling short of potential, it does not look good for the former as it looks a vintage crop this year.
