The Druids Nephew finished fifth in the Cleeve Hurdle behind Saphir Du Rheu and is aiming the eight-year-old at the Festival Handicap Chase on the opening day of the meeting.
"The Druids Nephew ran very well behind Sam Winner at Cheltenham in November. He finished seventh in the Hennessy, just behind Unioniste. His form is very good," Mulholland told Racing UK.
"He had a run in the Cleeve Hurdle on Saturday. He'll go straight for the first day of the Festival and you'd be hopeful he could make his presence felt."

Rocky Creek another possible.

Think I read Mendip Express aimed at this too.

King loves this race ...

Ned Stark

The seven-year-old holds an entry in the RSA Chase at Prestbury Park in March, but connections could also consider handicap options, depending on the assessor's verdict.

King was at Sandown, from where he said: "I thought we were in a bit of trouble leaving the back, but he's seen it out really well and I'm delighted with him. It's great to win a Towton again.

"I haven't spoken to any of the guys on track yet, so we'll get him home and see how he is and then make a plan.

"We'll see what the handicapper does. I don't think he can hammer him as he didn't win by far and I think they were all much of a muchness.

"The three-mile handicap (at Cheltenham) might be a possible, but we'll see.

"It's just nice to get this out of the way."

O'Regan believes it could be next season before Ned Stark realises his full potential.

"He's a really nice young horse, he's progressing well," said the jockey.

"I think the experience of Cheltenham last time stood him well today, especially in the heat of the battle.

"I went looking for the better ground and he's a horse that needs a bit of time."

I tried to do the weights see the list above - but it is a torturous process and think I will quit now and wait for them on Thursday.

Probably wouldn't change my initial shortlist.

Thanks OV - I will go through them tonight and try to pick out one or two before the official weights come out.

Sometimes I think OV doesn't get enough praise as he should for the time and effort he puts in this forum.

So great work buddy and appreciate all the help. :)

I would second that sentiment LR, you do a great job OV, this site gives us a lot of fun, good for research too

The two I really liked in the run up to this race were Carole's Destrier and Le Reve as I thought and they have subsequently shown themselves to be progressive handicappers at 3m for very underrated trainers.

Unfortunately they have possibly both peaked a little too soon and maybe blown their marks before the festival but I'd still be interested in Le Reve as Licy Wadham's gelding is said to be better on better ground and so there may be a little more to come. Hopefully the handicapper doesn't react to harshly on his second to rocky creek today and as a good jumper who stays well, he should give a good account at around 20/1 generally

Is Caroles D in the 4 miler ? I though Barry G's comments were steering Neil M that way after Ascot. The further he goes etc.

Good run from Le Reve today.

Interesting Nicholls has never won it. I suppose his are overexposed for handicaps later in the season.

BG probably wants Caroles D to go the 4 miler route so he can have a decent ride in the RSA on TYM.

Looks like his best option alright. He has a good record in the race.

CD may well be headed that way LR. And in agreement with others thank you for your continued efforts OV.

You could argue Easter day of his current mark still has a good shout but he's becomming expensive to follow and not all that reliable looking at today's exploits.

Going back to Le Reve, a good case could be made for Theatrical Star on the back of today's form as another who should appreciate better ground and has been running well
