2026 Grand National

For those who like the Ultima form, it's worth noting that Iroko scoped dirty after the race and that Greenall (or the other G) has said he prefers his chance to that of Jagwar.

I think that I Am Maximus is almost certain to place again but my shortlist will comprise 3 from the Bobbyjo (probably Mullins 8yos) and 3 from the Ultima (McManus).

….presume that includes Spanish Harlem who was pulled up in the Bobbyjo. Interesting his owner, Dr Fitzgerald, is also founder/owner of Randox. Mentioned as the target in Mullins pre-season stable tour but of course it could be just to give him a runner in the race he sponsors.

…..looking like this one might squeeze into Red Rum with a featherweight for Skelton, currently only 12 declared, he was 16-1 (1-4 places) this morning. Be interesting what he opens up after decs;

PALAMON (Close Brothers Red Rum Handicap Chase)

“The Red Rum is normally a race we have one or two runners in, but just how things have fallen this season we haven’t and last year’s runner-up Calico will head to Ayr.

“I’m going to give Palamon an entry in the Red Rum and we will see if he gets in, but he is also entered at Plumpton on Easter Monday. He could be interesting if he got into this on some decent ground.”

Harry Atkins on board

….presume that’s R James booked for Joker de Mai in the Foxhunters which seems a bit odd.

He's around 1 stone out of the weights by the looks of things.

It looks to be a very average card for Thursday, although the Juvenile is a cracker. I'm keen to take on both of Hendos short priced favourite, probably with Koktail Divin and IEP.

I was coming on to post exactly the same. Bobby Joe and Ultima horses. and I Am Maximus for me too.

…..a few were on Zanndabad but he missed the Festival. He has a few entries. I think it was @Saxon Warrior who originally mentioned him. Interesting to see if he’s declared somewhere for his Durham based owners.

…..Solness tops the weights in Topham, he also has an entry in Melling Chase for which he’s still 25-1 despite Protektorat going elsewhere.

Beauport went out like a light in last years GN after 3 out. 3 pounds less and 2nd race after a wind op, does the 125/1 make any appeal

….also noticed Minella Sixo has a single entry for Saturday’s handicap hurdle. I know he’s another ‘Cliff horse’ for many FJs, he wasn’t actually that far behind those at the front of the Pertemps and had a little trouble in running approaching the last. Now better off at the weights, he could be of interest if he’s declared; currently 33-1.

Had to do the high risk William Hill Handicap Fri/Sat double: 714-1. Small stakes, see if Zanndabad is declared tomorrow

PT to stick with IAM and Harry very likely to be on Perceval L

….Croke Park and Ile est Francais early Topham decs.

Grand National decs also ongoing for anyone unaware. Quite a few already in... I won't list them.

…..14-1 Hills.
Only Harry Lowes entered at the minute with Skelton jocked up and taken off Glance at Midnight. Looks like all of Skeltons other entries are done as well

They be wanting to see if Harry Lowes gets in I'd say

The Mighty Celt worth some punt in the conditional imo

Spillane's Tower declared for Saturday as well.

….Solness last minute in the Melling Chase.

Very warm and sunny up here in Liverpool, glorious Spring morning.

All 34 declared
