…..14-1 Hills.

….into 8-1, now 7-1

Another cloudy and chilly day here in Liverpool, it’s threatened rain all day but just a few little squalls so far.

Been busy today and missed the 14s  To be honest I was expecting single figures prior to decs anyway , and the entries don’t look overly strong. 3 I liked after a quick look over were Glance at Midnight, Joyeuse and Favour And Fortune.

No idea who is likely to turn up so I’ll probably just cover the Skelton runner at the minute, wouldn’t be surprised if he goes off <5/1

…..reading his Aintree ‘stable tour’, he also seemed particularly sweet on Doyen Quest. Seems certain ‘he’ll run his best race of the season’, he’s a general 8-1 so had to pop him in a little Skelton related Friday 160-1 (boosted) double with Glance at Midnight, 14-1.

Weather Watch; Wild, stormy night here in Liverpool. Wet underfoot this morning with rain in the air but a few blue bits just appearing as the clouds break up.

Anyone got a strong opinion on the Topham?

Madara is going to be popular given his win at Cheltenham and I'm not sure the weight rise will be enough to stop him.

At a big price, I like O'Moore Park who finished 6th in the Plate. He's still a maiden over fences but has run some nice races this season, finishing behind Oscars Brother and 5th in the PP Chase at Christmas. He lost his position in the Plate and was forced wide round the last bend but finished quite strongly - caught my eye anyway. He has an entry in the Irish National so isn't a betting proposition at the moment.

….having backed him in The Plate, O’Moore Park @ 40-1 Topham (365) appeals to me, especially now it’s his only entry (saying that, Mullins has others entered and might not send him over). The King of PRS is another I like at 50-1 (PP/SB) if he gets in.

The Plate has provided 3 Topham winners (the last in 2018), although 6 of the last 7 winners skipped the Festival.

I've backed two in this:
Search for Glory who would have won the Ultima but for (probably) ground issues, 20/1 looks OK and last I saw there was some 25s available.

Duffle Coat, it could well be he is gone at the game as he's shown next to nothing for a year but this horse was about to give Haiti Couleurs something to think about in his NH Chase, and people forget he was topweight that day conceding 10lb to a horse who went to to win an Irish National, a Welsh National and a Denman Chase., Haiti Couleurs is now 165, Duffle Coat now 135.
66/1 is a dart I'm happy throwing...

Confirmations ongoing. If Willie confirms (and declares on Wednesday) all his, and assuming that L'Homme Presse is out, Johnnywho would need either French Dynamite or Now Is The Hour to come out if they all stand their ground on Wednesday. As Cromwell has confirmed other entries but not Now Is The Hour, I'd say the signs are good for Johnnywho backers.

Spillane's Tower, L'homme Presse, French Dynamite, Now Is The Hour are the only ones above Johnnywho still to be confirmed.

If Spillane's goes Bowl, will Harry be claimed for Oscars Brother?
