2026 Grand National

Still 8/1 with Flutter. Great Ew price if true as race will cut right up.
Into 7/2 now so looks like decision made. Hope a few got on

Unexpected Party still 4/1 for Foxhunter with 365. 11/4 with Flutter.

Best horse in race. Target all season. Should outclass this lot.

Jimmy the trainer said as much yesterday. And with a level of certainty we don't normally hear from Mangan!!!
I bet he's gutted really. He'd love to have a big player in the GN.

16/1 Johnnywho still holding with 365, hard to see him getting bigger although extra places will kick in from Thursday when decs are made.

Could well be a choice between
16/1 five places
12/1 seven places

16's is a great price imo. He'll go off half those odds

Totally agree, I've backed him and just added jagwar too. May add nick rockett and that's my lot.
The reason I’m strong on Johnnywho is that for me he was pulling away from Jagwar in the Ultima, it looked like he was coming to grab the winner then when the winner saw the challenge he pulled out more.
Hard to be confident but the Ultima is as strong a form guide as you’ll get…

I do prefer johnnywho, out of the two but i couldn't not back jagwar as well, there wasn't much between them so couldn't leave him, I can see a forecast coming ! Yep, as you say the Ultima is a good a form guide as you'll get.

With Spillanes Tower likely Bowl bound after today’s comments Pied Piper should sneak in at no.34

Coming in off the back of two falls is far from ideal but 100/1 underestimates his chances for me, I think he has a squeak!

I was thinking the same but Search For Glory was awful today. I'll still be backing Johnnywho though...
Search for Glory missed the kick which is a big issue in a 30 runner handicap, he also gave one a real clout early, but ultimately being behind 25+ horses gets you in bad lanes.
You can't pretend it wasn't disappointing but it's possible a combination of those two issues were valid excuses.
Like you, I'm not put off Johnnywho....

….i think it’s ’live decs’ this morning for Thurs. interested in whether Protektorat is declared for Bowl after Skelton said he ‘might try 3m 1f’.

365 went a stand-out 10-1 (e/w 3 places) last night but cut to 6s in line with others now.

Weather watch; dry yesterday, bright and sunny this morning here in Liverpool. I’m about 4m from the course.

They'll need to get the watering can out.

You there on Thursday?

….no, I’ve treated my son and daughter-in-law to a couple of tickets in the Queen Mother stand. Mrs Eggs and I will be looking after their 3 young daughters

Skelton up early, Protektorat declared in Bowl. Spillane’s also in.

I fear the ground could be a worry for Spillanes again. With the forecast so good I can't think that it'll be any different to Gold Cup day ?

….its usually a very ‘lush’ surface, I’d be surprised if they can’t get a nice toe in but I suppose it depends on how soft he needs it.

Spillanes declared for the Bowl for Pied Piper to get the last National spot at the moment.
Protektorat also declared for the Bowl.

As of now, Skelton declared The New Lion for the Aintree Hurdle and not Kabral Du Mathan...

For those who like the Ultima form, it's worth noting that Iroko scoped dirty after the race and that Greenall (or the other G) has said he prefers his chance to that of Jagwar.

I think that I Am Maximus is almost certain to place again but my shortlist will comprise 3 from the Bobbyjo (probably Mullins 8yos) and 3 from the Ultima (McManus).

….from what I could see, he didn’t include Kabral in his “Aintree Stable Tour’, he also mentioned 3m 1f for Protektorat so at the moment it’s panning out.
