2026 Novice Chasers

I'm a big fan of Kopek and I've backed him. But if he gets to Chelt, and Lulamba gets to Chelt (having won tomorrow), there's no chance he's going off favourite off this prep. Especially given Hendo could have the supreme winner go in.

Well the two 2m chases in uk tomorrow should give us a little clarification regarding the arkle.
I’m expecting a shorty being stuffed and running at Southwell next month😉
Everything you've predicted this season has happened so I'm fully expecting Lulamba to flump tomorrow now......

You *??!*!??"!!?

Another twat who's skint I expect and trying to make back losses.

Disgusting scum if not true.

Pricks.

I’m sure it was just an error. Nothing malicious.

He's moved from 5.0 to 4.0 today on the back of it.

Would you take 5/2 nrnb or 3/1 ante post? I've got enough on him but the 5/2 is extremely tempting

I'm going to take the 4/1 antepost with a couple of bets today. The Punchestown visit and reaction afterwards is enough to convince me he's well. And I suspect today is the last chance to get those sort of prices. Think Lulumba may actually be a non runner today but even that would be enough of a negative for them to be much closer in the market.

The 4/1 can't last long so I think I'll take that too. There's money waiting to back him from 5.0 to 4.1 on the exchanges.

I just can't have that Lulamba is a better horse than KDB at 2 miles.

Only one way you are finding out, on the track in March…. hopefully!!!
Out of interest, what’s your reasoning?

I’d say there’s more negatives surrounding Kopek.
Even if Lulamba don’t run today he’s still had more Chase experience and not had any issues with his wellbeing.
Apparently he’s running today as he’s a tad fresh, don’t need the run for fitness.
So a racecourse gallop would happen to get him spot on for March I imagine.

As for taking prices? That’s a personal choice.
I’ve not backed either as yet and probably wait till the day now and see how I feel then.
If I really wanted to back Kopek now I would definitely use nrmb, been too fragile to risk for an extra point or so for my liking.

There's a few reasons tbh:

- Kopeks hurdle form is much better, including the C&D win in the Supreme.
- loved the chase debut of KDB.
- in not keen on 5 year olds in the Arkle
- I think Lulamba isn't an out and out 2 miler

The only reason he's such a big price is the lack of a second chase run but they gave him a good spin over fences the other day.

I also have full confidence in WPM getting him there in peak condition, and if that happens, i don't think Lulamba gets close to him.

Thanks FM, appreciate the quick response.
Yep, there’s no doubt which has the best hurdle form.
I’m not sure which is the best chaser, hard to know for sure imo, only three runs between them, maybe four later and a bit more info.
It’s a real shame that Kopek had had his problems, but its great that he is reported to be fine now, and as I said before, I just hope they both turn up fit and well.
Then the two of them can tell us which is best, well on the day at least!!
Fingers crossed they both get to March.

It seems like it was an error of judgement - post removed and no exchange movement which is where any hint of problems with one of Hendo’s usually start.

He posted a GIF of a typewriter (obv a correlation to the Con Hill saga) with Lulamba next to it. I suspect it was to do with him possibly not running today but he must have known it would also be read in the context of being OFTS. Done to get clicks, received v badly, and removed.

I suspect some people may have cashed out off the back of it - as you need to be quick off the mark before bets are greyed out. Bit of a foolish and irresponsible thing to do when you have an account with such a big following (imo).

Thanks for taking the time to explain
Much appreciated
