Cheltenham 2019 Ante-Post bets

You must be expecting a huge amount of improvement to challenge Altior.

He hasn't done anything than Min couldn't have done yet... he'll need to be a clear stable number 1 in the 2 mile chase division for me to think he'd beat an on-form Altior

I was very impressed by Great Field the other day in beating Doctor Pheonix. A young and improving chaser to worry Altior in the 2019 QMCC. Willie will have a live chance with this one. Douvan will be trained for the Gold Cup I reckon.

I'm going through my figures for Cheltenham and other recent meetings and tweaking here and there after looking at the races again . Whilst going down the list of eyecatchers I saw this horse again although it didn't run at the Fez. I've convinced myself that Great Field is the real deal now. He won this race very easily. Unextended . The proximity of Doctor Pheonix who I consider to be a solid GD.3 horse over 2M if you just read the bare result belies the actual ease and domination of Great Field during the race. This was his first run after a layoff so it's likely that he's a deal better than this as well.Another good bit of form was easily beating Ordinary World by 11L in a canter. I think I might have a E/W bet. 20s I'm on.

Just a thought on the idea of ap yankees for the fez, maybe it would be a good idea to look at the championship races first, make our initial choice one where we can be reasonably sure of targets, then add in other races with less obvious ones, but decent prices, as the year progresses. If we agree regularly on selections I don't think it matters if we end up with more than one a month, it's up to the individual how much they spend, if you want to do a 20p yankee it's a couple of quid, probably not for most of us but the options there, what does everyone think, ideas are flowing already, we may as well try to tie them in, then we can mix n match

First bet down today, 25s on Sizing Potsie for the Supreme. Wanted to get on board before the bumper at Fairyhouse this weekend

If we do one every month, make the recurring date an agreed day?

Maybe the 1st of every month

I’m open tbh. The idea of Cheltenham Yankees throughout the year was a good one. Keeps interest on the forum high over the summer.

Sounds good, doesn't give us a lot of time to finalise one for the 1st April, but if we start with the championship races I think it almost picks itself.
Gold cup PP/might Bite
Champ hurdle BVD/Melon
QM Altior/?
Stayers Penhill/Supasundae

Only initial suggestions obviously, I'm fully open to starting with shorties, or longer priced ones, or one of each, just wanna build up a good portfolio of bets using a cross section of chances

Two on this page could start a speculative one
Great field QM 12/1
Sizing potsie Supreme 25/1
Get a couple of yankees with those sorts of prices, and the horses turning up, the ew acca would pay huge odds, we could all be sitting on cash outs that would see us in profit before the fez starts

Cracking idea fellas, suggest you kick off a separate ante post yankee thread and take this over there or it will get lost in other 2019 traffic....

Assuming we start with the championship races, I’d go Might Bite, Altior, Samcro (with him appearing to be going here), Next Destination (could go here).

But I’d only be willing to put up the first two at this stage as the latter two are far too doubtful for a bet. However, saying that, finding a maybe runner and getting a price is half the fun.

I'm looking for Lostintranslation for the JLT market. Has anyone else a view on this one? The horse was a real eye catcher for me at Cheltenham .
