Champion Hurdle 2018

^ Yes.

Does anyone else think BVD is much too short at 4/7. He's got to beat Faugheen, Yorkhill, Wicklow Brave and Melon. I'm considering laying him at these prices

I do. I cashed him out at 8/15 he's the likely winner however I think He'll be 4/5 atleast if not evens on the day. I'm not adverse to backing him again.

Makes sense to me

The more Mullins throws horses at it, the more I think he doesn't feel confident.

He's reached for cheek pieces on Faugheen, which Mullins is VERY rarely seen to do. If he was back to his best would he need to be searching like this?

Yorkhill is just there on a whim and has dreadful form this season - and arguably hasn't shown any CH winning form ever.

Melon - they hope the removal of a hood works, but he's only shown a level of form that puts him around My Tent Or Yours and the "open to improvement" angle has almost died a death

Wicklow Brave's last run was the Melbourne Cup on the flat, in a different hemisphere on a different code. I thought he had each way claims but BVD won't be quaking in his hoofs at this horses profile?

Even though I’ve got BD in a couple of Yankees antepost and a couple of the skybet enhanced specials, I’ve got a feeling he is too short.

So I’ve done Wicklow Brave each way at 14s at a 1/4 the odds

The softer the ground the easier BD wins imo. Hendo's always stated that BD is at his best with plenty of give.

I think people are clutching at straws a bit when hoping that Faugheen will revert back to his 8 year old form. It ain't happening!

As Declan Murphy used to say on the racing channel back in the day...BD is a penalty kick without a goalie!

It's going to be a very trappy race this. Atleast One of the mullins horses is going to go on with a big lead imo but will he come back to the field. Ie Wicklow brave at punchestown.

Will they send yorkhill on like a mad man? The others won't want to follow the move but he's too good to give a big lead and hope he comes back.

I can't see ruby dictating the race on faugheen and allowing buveur dair to get a nice toe in to the race.

If Yorkhill runs here who will ride because Townend can't handle him, and Faugheen has only had one way to run based on his past successes, if they think he's back I think they'll press on with him, why the headgear otherwise?

David Mullins is jocked up at the moment.

I'm quite surprised at the number of runners in the CH to be honest. BVD has beaten most of the UK runners.... not a bad thing but surprising.

I'm stunned that they're coming here with Yorkhill, had him in the GC, then the Ryanair, not backing him in this, unless I cave tomoz:highly_amused:

I backed him for this during the interview with Willie Mullins after he got beaten by Road to Respect at 20/1.

Can't quite believe it is a runner.

I wouldn't back him at less than 20/1 now so it isn't even a decent bet :highly_amused:

My biggest single winner for this race is somehow Yorkhill, backed months ago. Buveur D'air better for my overall book as it would kickstart a few decent looking multiples

Does anyone have an opinion on Elgin? If Bvd stays on its feet then it wins. But I the Mullins pair are ridden to try an beat him hen I see them falling in a hole. I wouldn't be surprised to see Elgin run up that hill for a place. I keep coming back to him. I may be going mad !!!!!!

who will go wide on the ground ?
will they all go over to that side ?

This fantastic race was just an answer on the chase!
Everybody is Cheltmental

I could see DM trying to kick on with Yorkhill alright. It’s far from a penalty kick imo. For some reason this race sticks in my head - Faugheen winning over 3miles on heavy as a novice
