Hopefully the weather does ruin MA's chance of qualifying for this.

Paul Nicholls is in pretty poor form relatively?

3 winners from his last 33 ous just 9%.

30% running to form according to the RP but that's very low for a man who specifically pot hunts and doesn't just look at Cheltenham.

Slight concern for his string?

Feels like he has switched to another strategy, focusing on stealing races at the start and end of the season whilst others like Henderson are pretty much gearing their stables up for Cheltenham. Nicholls only had one winner at the festival if I remember correctly (foxhunters) and I can’t see him winning many more come March

For his handicap entries, no, plenty of them will have been dropping down the weights for the festival, not saying they have been losing by design, but....:p

Did anyone else take that 5/1 Paul Nichols to win the Foxhunters with Skybet?

Is he entered Sunday aswell. They guaranteed fresh ground for sunday at tinahely. Should be fine anyway.

Might be a danger of a frozen track at Tinahely scooby
Currently zero degrees,forecast - temperatures

A big day today for MORNING ASSEMBLY

"We are aiming to qualify him for the Foxhunter Chase at Cheltenham - . If he doesn't qualify for the Foxhunter, there is also the option of the Kim Muir at Cheltenham for which he also has an entry.

"If he can run well at Cheltenham, then there is a good chance we will aim Morning Assembly at the Grand National again.

"The horse has been in great form since his win at Kirkstown last time out. He really has been electric - just like he was when he was a young horse.

"I was a bit concerned his fire might have gone out a bit with the problems he has had over the years, but he is just like he was in his younger days and full of energy. He could have gone around again after his last win and his enthusiasm is just remarkable."

Im all over Burning Ambition for this with Foxrock to place. I think that his form when losing to Gilgamboa is very noteworthy. Gilgamboa still retains alot of his graded form ability and is lightly raced comparative to his age. If he qualified for the Fox's he would win this but BA is a worthy sub. He wins by 5L.

He wins by 5L? Now that's a bold statement of ever I've seen one:devilish:

Plenty will agree with you but if Morning Assembly retains all his ability I'll be surprised if BA will beat him by 5L.

5 lengths? Are you mad?

As the fatjockey representative for Burning Ambition, I can confirm he doesn’t win by 5 lengths. He wins by 3 eased down.

Even with relatively poor horses they always go a million miles in the Foxhunters. I thought Burning Ambition was no value at 8/1 so it is not difficult to leave him alone at half the odds. Personally, I thought his defeat was a negative rather than a plus. I suspect that Gilgamboa is a shadow of his best and has never really been a fighter. On that evidence Burning Ambition looks a difficult ride and I suspect he will struggle to get home.

Gilgamboa is the best of the Irish hunter chasers. He defeated Foxrock by nearly 10L easily. Foxrock went 6s for the Fox hunters. BA only beaten 1L ridden by a 7lb claimer. He should be 2/1 on the day I reckon.

Morning assembly runs in 15 mins at tinahely
