Albert Bartlett Novice Hurdle 2018

It's a good spot. Must admit it does look the case.
I think he would have been mullins best chance in the ballymore by some way
So i can't fathom out whos going ballymore. Id be asuming DDG unless the unlikely outcome that iv hit the jackpot with salsaretta at 530.0

Getabird :devilish:

Wouldn't make sense with the prices

True. Duc Des Genievres is the fly in the ointment with all these plans. You could argue that his second last time, well ahead of Real Steel, Debuchet and Sharjah, would give him a real chance in the Supreme. Surely his owners wouldn't be happy with him going Ballymore where Samcro at the least has him covered

Maybe the owner has insisted ND goes Bartlett. Mullins may not be scared of Samcro but the owner might. Getabird will probably go Supreme, maybe alongside DDG. Not sure who that leaves then for the ballymore but can't see many owners (other than Ricci maybe) persuaded to put one of their best ones up against Samcro

The owners Real steel needs further than 2m too if he's still going down the graded route.
I must admit I'm a little confused with the way they're going to shuffle them up. But i do have all angles covered. Bar getabird going bartlett
I'd be very sure of getabird supreme apart from that there could be a huge shuffle around.
I did Think ND ballymore and I believe it's his best trip as cracking smart stays very well, although financially would be better bartlett. And to be fair he wouldn't be going to the front as early as he did last time over 3m.

Penhill and Nichols canyon were both timed to perfection last year by Paul and ruby.

I never had ND in the ballymore (would have likely covered) so would be a plus for me if he goes here. You're right with the parallels to Penhill, if ND is given the chance to creep into the race then his turn of foot should be better than most up the hill

The exchanges have suggested this was going to be the case for ND.

Absolutely delighted if it happens! Think it makes perfect sense and think it’s Ruby and not the owners who will be driving it.

Getabird - Supreme
DDG - Ballymore
ND - Albert Bartlett

Could see him having two winners and a place there :very_drunk:

I agree with every word of that.

I think the best novice they have is getabird, then ND, and DDG 3rd.

That gives them the best chance of winning 2 races if Samcro runs in the Ballymore.

DDG may get closer to Samcro over further too so they have a justified reason to try the rematch. It'd also mean they don't have the bubble burst for Getabird or ND

Really nice win from Chef Des Obeaux at Haydock there.... looks to have built up some nice experience and a VERY strong stayer...

FOrm also does no harm to the talent highlighted in Santini's win over him....

Nice run from Chef Des Obeaux, he seems to have improved no end in his last three races.. I have him at 16s when I thought Santini was being layed out until next year, so also had a saver on Santini last week when money started coming in for him.. happy to be on both at the mo..

Henderson is likely to be triple-handed in his quest to land the Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle for the first time since winning with subsequent Gold Cup hero Bobs Worth in 2011.

He said: "There is three for the Albert Bartlett - Santini, Chef Des Obeaux and Mr Whipped. We've discussed it with Richard (Kelvin-Hughes, owner) to go so that's the plan (Santini) He is in tremendous form and is fresh and mad.

"If the ground is soft in the Albert Bartlett, I think Chef Des Obeaux, who won at Haydock at the weekend, will be a better horse than Santini. He ran a very good race in soft ground, but I bet you he is a better horse on better ground."

Very interesting comments!

I’d take those Henderson comments with a pinch of salt. He said earlier in the season that he would have thought someone crazy if suggesting chef des obeaux would make into a Bartlett horse. Then he was gushing about how good santini could be and mentioned the gold cup. And santini beat chef des obeaux in soft ground

Really keen on santini for this. Is good ground going t bring about more improvement all runs on soft or heavy so far

Henderson 100% thinks Santini will be better on good ground, he explains this in detail on the OLBG interview today

I'm still concerned about lack of experience for Santini. He'd need to justify his hype to be winning an Albert Bartlett.I think he's short enough at 8/1

Anyone see Blow By Blow run today heard it won by 14 lengths got it at 33's for this race. Was it a good run?

He was leading when the second horse (roaring bull) fell at the last. I don't think he'll be a grade 1 winner over hurdles.

Cheers Faugheen_Machine why I just do £5 bets at the start of the Jump season didn't know if to Top up after the distance I saw it win by.
