Supreme Novices 2018

We certainly did. No doubt he goes supreme.
Unless tizzards thinking says that will take the freshness out of him for the bartlett :highly_amused:

Hopefully he does, will give me another couple of open bets which I thought were dead tbh!

Looks like the Tizzard stable has turned the corner.

Certainly does - good news in general. Hopefully he carries it on though... April(Aintree) was different class compared to Cheltenham

"He has got the entries (Supreme and Ballymore) and that is something we have got to decide what is right for the horse.

"Off the back of that, he looks like one for the two-and-a-half mile race if he goes there, which I think he will."

Doesn't sound like the Supreme to me...

Vision Des Flos?

They must have watched a different race to me!

I know that he's confirmed slate house for the supreme previously. But what an idiot. Somebody surely tells him he ran over 2m today and thats his trip. Id rather he went county instead of today than win like that and go ballymore

If The Cap Fits has just been nursed along, beating up inferior opposition on flat tracks. The only time he has stepped up in class he was well beaten. The Supreme will be an absolute sea change. At the moment his form isn't good enough and there is no telling how he will adapt. He is no value.

Couldn't have put it better myself KB. Hasn't won in graded company. Cant have him at all.

With every day that passes its looking more likely that Samcro could come here. Ive said all along he's a perfect Supreme horse for me, but we shall see. I agree with Scooby that ND would be well suited for this race. Bit of a knock for me with Claimin, hopefully he'll run into a place for me at big odds. Getabird/Samcro my main hopes.

Are the two main Tizzard horses overpriced in the NRNB markets for this?

When you consider how Slate House ran when the yard was running hideously, and the likely improvement for spring ground, he may be a threat in a strongly run Supreme. 40/1 NRNB seems fair for a horse they really like.

The same goes for Vision Des Flos with the wind op apparently doing wonders as well as the drop in trip. I was expecting to see a little bit shorter than 33/1

Getabird and Samcro have similar needs for me in relation to ground/trip.

If ground is soft then there's every chance their best performance would come in the Supreme, if ground is good then every chance the Ballymore trip would see them to best effect. I'm always assured that Ricci/Mullins wouldn't duck a clash with Samcro.... if that is the case then surely we should expect to see them in the same race?

I must admit, 33/1 NRNB is interesting me quite a bit.

I know, at this moment in time, it does seem that he is more likely to go for the Ballymore, but I couldn't help but be impressed by him over the weekend and I am happy to tie some funds up for the time being on him at that price.

Edit: And with that, as per Jono's post in the Ante Post Bets thread, they are running him in the Ballymore :highly_amused::very_drunk:

Samcro future is over fences and further

Why would they run him in a supreme?!
Neptune > RSA > Gold Cup for this horse

What makes you think Samcro's future is over those trips, when Elliot bought him it was a departure from their usual types. Samcro is breed for 2miles, i fully expect him to be contesting the champion hurdle or Arkle next year. Half brother to Faugheen, Dam side Family littered with 2mile chasers, i even think theres a tingle creek winner in that lot too....And i wouldnt be suprised to see a late switch to this race either...Just like ND going Bartlett, most of us dont look to closely at blood lines but owners and trainers do..Just an opinion of course and i could be completely wide of the mark..

We're over-thinking this. Gordon doesn't want to face Getabird and Getabird goes here and wins by 5l.

Samcro goes Ballymore and wins by 5l. That in no way points to his trip next season.

You can still get 4/1 the double nrnb and bog.

Where are you seeing this BN, regarding 2 milers on the dam side?

From what I can see he looks like your typical Gigginstown purchase aka a winning P2P. He beat a horse most on here want to go for the 4miler on heavy ground over 3miles, to me that screams bags of stamina.

This is the Dams side..

Dun Dun is out of the Be My Native mare Frankly Native, a half-sister to the fine chaser Sound Man, winner of two Tingle Creek trophies and placed behind Klairon Davies in the Arkle and Queen Mother Champion Chase at Cheltenham.

I see it now. That being said I think Samcro will be RSA next year not Arkle.

Fair shout, by far the most likely scenario still

You fully expect Samcro to be in the CH or Arkle?

It's been made 100% clear by the owner, O'Leary that he is going over fences with a view to being a Gold Cup horse.

The Arkle is the least likely of the novice chases too ...

I'm not saying he couldn't run in those races but you'll be wasting time considering.

I haven't got the exact quote but it was something like:

Today was impressive because he's a big chasing type. He'll be going over fences next year because we aren't interested in champion hurdles "

It was quite dismissive. He'd have to completely fail as a novice chaser for it to be a factor?

IMO there is absolute proof that the owners will make that decision and their intentions are clear and backed up in history

You can add Mullins doesn't want to gave Samcro too and its the same result :highly_amused:
