Supreme Novices 2018

World Premier is actually my biggest winner now in this race. Has two entries in the coming days, in races that look hot, so hoping he gets out and puts in a performance

I want black ops to win that race if they both run .
Would be an interesting match up anyway

Winter soldier would be the (ricci) one I will put forward with high expectations From what I heard last season and have read in his stable tour this season. Always one he mentions with a little more enthusiasm.

Antey could be anything
Francin is a pacey sort

Besides sharjah
Rightly or wrongly I'd rule it the rest of riccis string for 2 miles.

The form of both Winter Soldier (finished 2nd in his one start) and Antey (won one and finished 3rd staying on) to me is nothing special if you look at how the beaten horses have performed since. Certainly not in Sharjah's league. Time will tell of course, and they will both obviously be running over further (and over hurdles) which could bring out plenty of improvement. That Annamix was clearly the favoured horse in the yard isn't a positive for any of Mullins' other potential Supreme runners, Sharjah included

I'd say he was the most favoured of the Ricci runners, potentially not the entire yard, that we don't actually know for sure. Melon wasn't a Ricci horse and he was the favoured one, after Senewalk flopped, and obviously Senewalk was only the favoured horse because he was one of Ricci's. There is every chance Annamix got to a track and was completely hopeless, I'd personally doubt that, but there was still that chance. I think, like last season, it will be another non Ricci runner that will now be Mullins' best hope of a Supreme winner now.

Every chance, Ricci didn't even have a runner in last years Supreme from memory

Not in the end no, I don't think he did. But he sure as hell had the favourite for it before that flopped, a bit like this time around, only Annamix picked up an injury. He also had plenty still in the betting I believe even after Senewalk, and none of them ran. Wouldn't surprise me if the same happened this time around, though he seems to have plenty more options this time, talks a lot of them as possibly stepping up in trip though.

Flat form dosent make the complete difference to what they will achieve over hurdles. Riven light max dynamite etc... there were better horses than hurricane flys flat form, still a machine..
Joseph obrien would mop up all the novice races at the festival if that was the case.

And the champion bumper winner of Dermot welds might have won a maiden hurdle.

I read on one review of the French imports that Antey is likely to need 2m 4 plus, does seem that way with a lot of his currently. I think with the Neptune looking potentially strong (Samcro and also maybe Slate House and If The Cap Fits) we could see a lot more targeting the Supreme and Bartlett this year

Not a huge consideration, but i wouldn't see it as a negative. Of the potential Supreme horses Mullins has had out so far I think Sharjah looks the best package. Am sure they will get any others they might have for the race to the track before xmas so we'll see then where they all slot in

Makes no difference to me what they say on French imports with all due respect I can back my own judgement. at 200.0 plus , if have thought he will start at 2 miles and worth a chance .

Either of slate house and if the cap fits could still go to the supreme to be fair. The plan has always been to step both up to 2m4 though.

Antey is by Lord of England the same sire as Townshend and ricci is quoted as saying " he has a simular bit of boot"

To be fair I have covered him for the neptune at a simular price. And wouldn't be going in at 're books prices.

Slate House could go for either of the three still at this stage. I also have Epicuris backed but have heard little on him

Really cant see slate house wanting 3 miles as he's keen to get on with it. But like you said at this early stage it's all possible :). Epicuris is a bit of a nut job.
without the stalls will hopefully help, hes got ability obviously, but hes a hell of a project hence is purchase price

A similar nut job won it last year :devilish:

He sure Did, and I diddnt have him in my book as I thought he woukdnt start. And even if he did diddnt think he was a likely winner . Despite codds words.

I had 0.5pts on him which saved my book. I think in learning each year with this ante post game the Supreme and Triumph are two races where you wouldn't be missing out if you didn't get involved until after xmas. Every year I keep adding and adding horses for those two races only to see the early season performances not franked as the season goes on. You might be getting the winner at a nice price but currently I have 12 for the Supreme and 7 for the Triumph. If i held on til after xmas i'm sure i could narrow that down to 2 or 3 for each, take the lower prices, and be in a better overall position

Wouldn't have surprised me if they knew about Annamix prior to when Ricci said, it just dawned on me why Betfair (who are the same company as PP basically), were stand out 12/1 for him....ever the sceptic, me.

I find the triumph pretty easy as you can see the French form and how it works out through the year at auteuil.
But the supreme I can end up in a simular position. Although i have some record eith a book on the race pre labaik.

Anyway happy enough to throw some darts at 3 figures on some educated guesses. and see how it plays out.
Reel steal / mengli khan and to a lesser extent black op could do me a favour this week.

On that French form I would have had Malaya beating Gumball all ends up. Seems like that was a quiet introduction though and I still hold out hope for her, was a much better performance last time out. The royal bond takes on more importance for me now and I will be ready to press the button in-race on Mengli Khan if he's travelling well and looking like taking it well
