2026 Jack Richards Novice Limited Handicap Chase

For someone like myself who plays multiple horses in the handicaps I keep a close eye on any JP entries.
It stands to reason that JP will let the trainers know early this week of any running plans, as they will want to get the race prep started etc.
Looking at the betting today it looks like Ben Pauling's horse may have been given the nod for here.

It looks likely that Waterford Whispers may join Jeriko in the Kim Muir. Not sure about uhavemeinstitches, but there has been no movement since weights announced, so maybe they didn;t like the mark (who knows)

And Mclaurey may go in the plate.

Obviously just my thoughts at the minute having followed the markets for the last few weeks.

I'm aware he has other runners entered but these were on my radar as being potentially well treated and with improvement likely.

Noticed these moves this morning too.

I know they are JP horses and we have to take note, generally, but not sure I really like either of them (famous last words, of course).

Yep, not convinced with meet me by the sea myself, and had actually left him out of my jack richards team.
but added this morning.
Mclaurey and waterford though look definitely well treated to me.

Uhavemeinstitches could stay at home - current fav for Leinster National this Sunday (as you’ve prob seen).

Should get in easily enough and can run off 6lbs less, for substantially more prize money. Leave Jeriko and Waterford for JP in Kim Muir.

…..Sixmilebridge;

He is in the Arkle, Brown Advisory and the Jack Richards Novices’ Handicap and no decision has been made as yet but we are leaning towards the handicap for him. He had his final gallop on Sunday, and we will keep our fingers crossed. He has been very good and to win a Grade 1 with him was fantastic. (Fergal O’Brien)

Koktail Divin been smashed in accross the boards tonight, wondering if something has been said

Backed him for this a few weeks ago through the process of elimination because Henry has The Big Westerner for the Browns.

Probably a bit too short now though.

Agreed. Just out of interest (I have terrible memory) what sort of price was he knocking around at a few weeks back? At a guess 8-10s?

10's Antepost and 8's NRNB. Memory isn't as bad as you say.

Rolled him up in a few bets last week at 6's NRNB too.

Henry coming out and saying they are leaning towards the BANC for Koktail Divin 🤦‍♂️

Sounds ground dependent though.

Was 16snrmb on pp 3 or 4 weeks ago

Thought he might. On drying ground, they might go a bit quick for him in the JR. I'd be worried that 6MB could do the same.

Yeah I’m worried as a six mile backer, though not sure he’ll be quite as effective over the extended 3m. Hmmm

Yep. I'd not fancy him as much in a BANC going 3m for the first time and with how he likes to get on with it.

REGENT’S STROLL (Jack Richards Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase)

“This has been my plan all season for him really. I think he has got a nice mark. It is a very competitive race, but he is very much in the same mould as Caldwell Potter, who won the race last year for us.

“He has probably got a bit more toe than Caldwell Potter, but I would still say that in the future he will end up being a three miler.”
