‘26 Mares Novice Hurdle

Yeah there was a lot of talk at the time about how she had come forward from her debut, but she beat cornelienne the same distance as when both were behind oldschool outlaw.

So if she did come on a lot, then cornelienne must have too. Or both of them just ran the same sort of race as when bambino was considered disappointing on seasonal debut.
Strange comments about getting her back to herself by then. Not sure what he means? She coming out of season perhaps? Or something amiss after the last run. Strange.

Maybe reading far too much into that comment? Could it be he just means she's steadily coming back to the form she was in last season? In which case it's a big positive.

Could well be. It’s the season where all are on the edge!

She’s literally called Baby Fever 👶

She’s probably been coming on hot & heavy to every colt in Closutton. Valentines tomorrow after all. Let’s hope they fire blanks & she’s a woman possessed in March.

:ROFLMAO: Love this.

Be brilliant if beaten in March Mullins comes on ITV and says something like
"She's been a right slag around the yard just lately and I think that might have taken the edge off her"

Im sure I’ve read that in foal mares actually perform better in the early stages of pregnancy because of the increase in hormones etc.

knob out in front of the telly , just not the same thing is it :D

Colts in Closutton, not many colts in NH racing, I wouldn't fancy jumping a fence with my plums brushing through some birch, I'm sure some might relish the prospect though..I'm not judging.

I often think we are too quick to lop them off.
I'm sure Sir Erec put people of trying it, but a few winning hurdles in the breeding pool from a colt perspective would surely be welcomed. I know they do in France

I remember Colreevy beating prime Monkfish and Envoi at Punchestown, and then it was announced she was retiring as she was up the duff. So may be something in that...

….HDB keen on a couple of his;

And there’s Full Of Life and Echoing Silence for the Ryanair Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle too.

“They’re two right mares. Echoing Silence has done little wrong. And won what I’d say looks to have been a good maiden hurdle really easily, then she won nicely at Punchestown on heavy ground which wouldn’t be ideal for her. She’s a Doyen mare and probably prefers nicer ground than that. Then we put her away for this and she’ll be bang there.

“Full Of Life won over two five in Tramore over the summer, I got her trip completely wrong. She got beaten then in a 120 or less beginners’ chase in Kilbeggan but showed so much pace, which she had never done at home, so we dropped her back to two and she ran really well.

Then by chance we said we’d go back over hurdles and stick her in the mares’ novice hurdle up north. Her owner Roger Kissane suggested it and she won, beating Declan Queally's good mare Carrigmoornaspruce who has run really well since.

“So I’m basically saying we got it completely wrong. We were just keeping her as a novice chaser for next spring or summer then she won that so we said we’d definitely go to for the mares’ novice at Cheltenham.

“She’s a good, tough, hardy mare who worked really well in the week. The drop back in trip and riding her forward, she loves it. They’re both very good mares in what looks a strong race."

I didn't like ES as cover for Bambino

Mille et Une Vies would be a big player in this imo

4yo so will get the 10lb age allowance - I fancied her for the Boodles even off 135 so have punted her here NRNB @ 25s

Favourable write up in Dan's stable tour.

Her French form is serious -

has ties with the 2 best FR juvenile mares Olga de Kiev and Delmegan and was last seen 2nd in the G3 Prix Sagan beaten by Olga, but infront of subsequent G2 Prix Magalen Bryant winner Delmegan and 6L infront of the now Ricci/Willie mare Selma de Vary

She'll put it up to the top 2 mares with the allowance and would have her 3rd/4th fav on the day for sure.

Anyone know if there is an issue with Carrigmoornaspruce? Long thought she should be single figures, but there has been little market support.
