apprentices and conditionals can ride on the county
Yea I get that. But somewhat levels the playing field in the Pipe.

I might be wrong but I'm sure I seen Nurse Susan mentioned for the Coral Cup, might not be good enough but I think she was being aimed there.I know Dan Skelton believes Tristan Durrell is a massively improved jockey this season, if 129 is enough to get A Pai De Nom in the M Pipe then he'd look to have a big chance as @Faugheen_Machine has been touting, however if Harry thinks he would have a great chance I assume he'd be pushing to get the horse in the old Coral Cup, unless I've missed it the yard don't look to have any obvious chance there...
I’m not sure any track let alone the host of the most famous racing festival in the land would welcome the potential pr disaster resulting from creating a race that purposefully married the most inexperienced horses with the most inexperienced jockeys. If you were Cheltenham you’d be looking in your rear view mirror the whole time hoping and praying . Can’t see it happening personally.Been mentioned by Gordy but a joke this race requires 5 hurdle runs these days. It should be made a novice handicap
It was basically a novice handicap beforehand anyway? I wouldn't have wanted to be held up in it, but it was mostly fine. Conditionals ride constantly and most runners have had 3/4 runs to qualify for it beforehand, so plenty experienced enough.I’m not sure any track let alone the host of the most famous racing festival in the land would welcome the potential pr disaster resulting from creating a race that purposefully married the most inexperienced horses with the most inexperienced jockeys. I think Kel Histoire (131 IRE) is JP's only entry in the Pipe. If that is the case, then the 33/1 NRNB looks a no brainer. He doesn't run, you get your money back. He does, he's likely to be a single figure price given the silks. He was on my radar for the Coral Cup initially and I think a mark of around 135 or less would see him bang there.
Thanks for the prompt Eggs, had a bit of the 25’s NRNB Open Secret with Betfred this morning on their machines…..a reminder that @Saxon Warrior final planner race of the season takes place tomorrow and it’s one that has had an impact on the Martin Pipe.
Twice in recent times Gordon Elliott has used tomorrow’s 2m 5f race at Thurles as a stepping stone to winning the MP. He runs two but given his recent Stable Tour comment, the aim is to get Open Secret qualified for MP. His other runner, Timeless Treaty has MP & Coral Cup entries.
A race to watch with a bit of interest.
Definitely of interest. Elliot name dropped four for the Pipe in stable tour, with the caveat it was early days.…..a reminder that @Saxon Warrior final planner race of the season takes place tomorrow and it’s one that has had an impact on the Martin Pipe.
