Can't take to the Wallpark in the NHC. His chase form is dreadful, understand he hasnt being trying, but when you are going to run over 3m6f you have to have a few decent runs in the season.
Also for a horse that I thought was a stayer, he has only won once over 3m.

Has to finish yet doesn't he...

Hopefully Oscars Brother is trying to win and The Wallpark is trying to finish last!
Would have thought that it was in The Wallpark's interest to finish relatively close to the winners today. Assuming one of Oscars Brother or Gold Dancer wins then they are currently rated 148 and 150 respectively. If they improve their mark by say 3lbs then the winner might get a mark in the low 150s. The Wallpark is receiving 5lbs from both of them so by dead heating he would get a mark in the high 140s. If he gets beat by around 10 lengths then this would have him down at the 140 ish level which would be perfect. The risk if he is never put into the race and is tailed off is that he is declined a mark by the UK handicapper (as A Dream To Share was on the flat). This would be perfectly reasonable given that he has a hurdles mark of 155 but has RPRs ranging from 91-121 over fences so far. Another similar run would simply leave the handicapper having to guess which he would be justified in declining. The Irish handicapper had given A Dream To Share a flat mark and the UK handicapper disregarded it so there is precedent.

Doubt they’d decline in this example
More likely to match the hurdle rating.
Same as a slap though

Will be interesting how he performs today

He showed up well on his last run to take some positives from

I am a bit of a sucker for a JP horse in the NHC

As far as staying its a fair point that he needs to prove he will

Since the changes from a totally amateur jockey race I feel they now go a more sensible gallop and that might help

He's a NRNB Cheltenham play if ever there was one. As there's every chance the handicapper rates him too high anyway. Or he's genuinely actually so shite over fences they don't bother going...

Imagine he will be up the arse of Western Walk for majority of the way and then finish just ahead after the last. Needs to be showing the handicapper he is a 140 rated chaser. Five runs is surely enough to 'highlight' he is not so good, especially as 4 of the runs would be at 2 1/2m or further.

Well that went to plan.

Quite eye catching in the finish The Wallpark 😂
Needs to brush up on the jumping

Mark Walsh will be badly missed for burying a horse for a handicap mark

I would love it.

On a line through WW and Oscar's Brother, they can't hammer him tbf.

Just would have preferred a 10L beating :ROFLMAO:

Yeah I agree. I think Mark got a bit carried away after the last................🤣🤣🤣🤣

tax plus a rise will be over 145 , that finishing kick has blown it , God knows why he did that , haven't backed him but Kim Muir is 145 as well isn't it

I'd say there's next to no chance he gets 145 or less in the uk.

It's a bit annoying that he isn't quoted in the Irish National betting as things stand

The old "jumps like a snooker table" springs to mind. Can't be easy though when you are trying to stop the horse making ground through the race!

Beaten 6 lengths by a horse rated 148 eased down and carrying 5lb more weight. Finished 4 lengths ahead of Western Walk off level weights and he is rated 135. Should get dropped a couple of pounds by the Irish handicapper. Looks like both Oscars Brother and Western Walk have run close to their marks. Whether the UK handicapper sees things differently is another matter,

Being a 155 hurdler who finished 3rd in the stayers hurdle the uk handicapper will slap plenty of tax on

Can see him getting 7 or 8lb added on to his irish mark

Jeriko du reponets mark might have been the handicappers usual gift to jp this year.

If he starts giving the wallpark two or three pounds tax he might be going too far with it 🤣

Educate me please, why am I seeing 1000 £2 lay on Mighty Park Turners?
