2026 Novice Hurdlers

Depends how he comes out of yesterday's race. Won it easily enough. I'll leave that decision to Willie....😁
I’d like to see him run in the future champion and then go on to the DRF. Since the changes in the Irish program with the DRF the Moscow Flyer isn’t really what it used to be, there’s no really a stepping stone from it to Cheltenham if you need one. Vautour won that maiden this weekend, went to the Moscow and then onto the Deloitte.

Does anyone have any news on kaiser ball ?
Not seen anything.

But on the horse himself, was willing to overlook him being moved from mullins, but his form doesn't look that great now either. Arslan beaten in a maiden hurdle, and eachtotheirown well beat in the royal bond. He beat those two easily himself but I'd have liked to have seen them running well to make up for the fact the owners decided to train kaiser ball themselves.

The jockey has 2 career wins over obstacles and is 6 ft 4. I wouldn't back him if he was on the favourite.

Sounds like he'd be better suited to the Harlem Globetrotters bench than a smelly weighing room at Naas :ROFLMAO:

Doctor Steinberg 136p from 126p

There were some notable performances in the novice hurdle division last weekend, with Doctor Steinberg's emphatic victory in the Grade 2 Navan Novice Hurdle one of the better efforts.

His task was made easier by favourite Port Authority failing to fire and finishing tailed off, but Doctor Steinberg still showed useful form to beat Thedeviluno by four and a half lengths. Admittedly, he was allowed to dictate a steady gallop, but he quickened up well - just as he had on his hurdling debut at Galway - and scored with enough authority to suggest he was the best horse on the day regardless.

The race was won two seasons ago by subsequent Supreme Novices' Hurdle winner Slade Steel, while last year's winner The Yellow Clay went on to finish runner-up in the Turners Novices' Hurdle. Doctor Steinberg will also be worth a crack at a Grade 1 after showing a similar level of form as The Yellow Clay did in the Navan Novice Hurdle 12 months ago.

At Sandown last week there were impressive victories for No Drama This End(132P from 129P) and Hurricane Pat (130p from 124p). No Drama This End's victory in the Grade 2 Betfair Winter Novices' Hurdle didn't represent a significant step up on the form he had shown when winning a Grade 2 on his hurdling debut at Cheltenham last month, but he won with any amount in hand to back up the view that he's an excellent prospect. He retains plenty of untapped potential and has the Timeform Large P to show he's capable of much better form when the situation demands it.

The listed novice that kicked off the Sandown card on Saturday attracted five unbeaten hurdlers - all with the Timeform 'small p' - and was won by Hurricane Pat in the style of a smart prospect. He impressed with how smoothly he moved through that race and the only British novice hurdlers rated higher are Mydaddypaddy (140P), Sticktotheplan (135) and No Drama This End (132P).

No word on Doctor Du Mesnil?

Someone must know one of the syndicate members :ROFLMAO:

I know he's entered in the Future Champions over Christmas, but I don't see Willie chucking him in there first time over hurdles.

Not been entered in any maiden that I've seen?

Was expecting an entry at Naas next Monday, but nothing.

Almost guaranteed to be in one of the Xmas maidens no?

You would think so. I imagine the 5yo maiden straight after Fou De Toi pisses up :ROFLMAO:

I just wondered if anyone had heard anything though. Usually they get entries leading up, but nothing for him.

You mean Leader D'allier 🤠

Thought Echoing Silence done that well enough at Punchestown.

I imagine will take high rank for connections with a view to the festival and the MNH.

Surprised to see she's still as big as 16's for the race.

One thing I think it is showing is that last years bumper crop really were bang average.
