2026 Novice Hurdlers

Kalypso'chance delcared for the 3m Grade 3 novice hurdle at Cork on Sunday.

Looks a very weak race though.

No Drama has thrown the gauntlet down there, I hate the phrase but...anything he does of hurdles is a bonus.

I agree.

Different type to the likes of Stage Star & Bravemansgame, this one looks tank like, which, I guess, is why the Denman comparisons are about.

I'd love to compare him to Denman in the future, but he's still got enough to prove.

Today was classy though.

….a best 7-1fav Turners.

It makes a mockery of Doctor Du Mesnils price, doesn't it. He's won two fair races, as he's liked and is still only 1pt shorter of a horse we haven't seen over hurdles :ROFLMAO:

Could be successive English winners of the Turners. Who'd have thought that.

I've took WH Road to Cheltenham 8's as he has looked very good each time. I flirted with the win today and any race price earlier and now annoyed I didn't do it.

Undoubtedly a good horse but not sure he’s the type to win a Turners, he looks typical of a horse who will get outpaced/stay on to place behind a speedier type. Obviously the race won’t pan out like that every year but history suggests it does far more often than not, so his price wouldn’t interest me at the moment.

Looked really really good and I was impressed, but we've seen today that horses are hosing up at Sandown as they sometimes can when its deep ground and it almost exaggerates the performance somewhat. We've seen nothing from IRE yet to stamp their marker down so if you haven't got a price yet, probably worth seeing what emerges from Christmas

No Drama This End was trimmed to a top price of 7/1 (from 12/1) for the Turners Novices' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival and now heads that market.

Trainer Paul Nicholls said: "We're obviously very excited about him. We were at Cheltenham and were before then. There was a bit of pressure on me this week making the decision to go [for this race] having decided we might go straight for the Challow. But this is a good race we have won with some good horses and it was worth running in. He sauntered around and did that very nicely."

On future plans, he added: "The Challow has been on the agenda, but it's not the be all and end all. If he's right and we're happy we could run, but if we don't go to the Challow it's not all the world. Cheltenham would be a nice aim if the ground was right and we could always slot in somewhere in between. But if he ran in the Challow he'd go straight to Cheltenham. We'll just see how he is for the next three weeks."

Nicholls has won the Challow on six occasions, including with the mighty Denman, who won the rescheduled 2005/06 edition by 21 lengths at Cheltenham.

Nicholls had drawn some comparisons between No Drama This End and Denman after the five-year-old's impressive performance at Cheltenham. He said: "If I have another Denman, perhaps it's him. He's very similar - he stays, he'll jump and make a great staying chaser."

English have current fav for all three Novice Hurdles at beginning of December.

Now there's a first !

I'd like to see him go for the Classic Novice Hurdle at Trials Day instead. Just feels a better gap between races, 7 weeks now, then 6 weeks to the festival. Same course and trip as the Turners, too.

Speaking to irishracing.com, O'Keeffe said: "Thedeviluno goes to Navan on Saturday. He's in really good form at home. The race in Gowran has worked out really well with the second coming out and winning impressively in Fairyhouse, and the third running a great race last week in the Royal Bond. So the race looks like it's working out well. It wasn't a bad maiden.

"He's stepping up in grade, but I think the trip and the ground should suit him. He should have improved a bit from Gowran as well. So look, it's a big step up, but he's a nice horse, and I'm really looking forward to riding him.”

Looks like Classical Creek a NR today..

Had been backed into favouritism also :ROFLMAO:
And Kennedy's ride had drifted like a barge.
No idea why no one is looking into this sort of thing as it's happening almost every week.
