I’m thinking Jade will have too much toe for The Big Westerner tomorrow. Corks a sharp flat track, with decent enough ground I struggle to see Henry’s mare getting on top.

It’s a very strong beginners mares chase though so I’ll be topping up on TBW for the Browns if she’s narrowly beaten & pushed out accordingly.
 
….Fun Fun Fun one to note today, favourite for a Mares Hurdle that makes it into @Saxon Warrior race planner.

Mullins has said she’s staying over fences and specifically mentioned Mares Chase. Worth noting, in 2020 Elimay was beaten in today’s Mares Hurdle for Mullins before coming 2nd in the Mares Chase.

Was very very poor I thought

Seem to be few of Willies running disappointing this weekend, and some really good, so hard to know whether she was short or not

But not many positives to take at all, she was well beaten early in the straight

Jumped OK, but nothing that would make you think 'wow'

Agreed, I don’t think she made ground at many fences (if at all). The slip isn’t in the bin just yet, but need a massive step forward to have a chance after that!
 
If Kargese is declared and impresses at Thurles on Thursday then I wouldn't be surprised to see JDG revert back over hurdles.

Was thinking the same. With Lossie potentially going Champion Hurdle and all these others going chasing Mullins becomes short in the Mares Hurdle. Won't take much for one to revert back to hurdles...

The more it looks like Lossie going champion the more chance jade comes here
I think they’d give her another pop over fences but if she doesn’t win and remains a novice then it’s even more likely

One to watch and stay patient with I reckon- the 12-1 is tempting as she could easily go off 2nd fav behind wodhooh or favourite if wodhooh absent

Assume you mean JDG to mares hdl? If kargese does impress chasing, surely she goes arkle not mares chase? Far too keen for this imo.

She was a very good 2nd in March so I'd agree totally. Not sure they'd even give her another try over fences she was that poor today.

If she'd raced over hurdles yesterday do you think she'd have won? She jumped the fences just fine imo,I don't think the fences were the problem.

Probably just sulked because she didn't like jumping them ? She didn't look happy at any stage.

10lb better than Kala over Hurdles and beaten 15 lengths on first public race over fences………so has Kala improved 2 stone for jumping a fence?

In general we are too quick IMO to write off horses after their first run….

Keep the faith, too bad to be true

You wont see 25/1 again if she wins a chase race next time

Paggane was handed a quote of 12-1 from 16s by Paddy Power for the Mrs Paddy Power Mares’ Chase at the Cheltenham Festival, with Cobden thrilled to be in the winner’s enclosure again aboard the thriving mare.

He told Racing TV: “It was very straightforward and I thought the writing was on the wall for Stuart Edmunds’ mare probably from halfway down the back.

“It was a case of Paggane staying on all four feet and keeping the jockey intact and she’s obviously a lovely mare who is very straightforward and jumps well. Faye has done a brilliant job with her.

“She’s obviously a very, very good mare and travels well over three miles but is tough enough to go over two and a half. She’s very versatile and doesn’t feel ground dependent and is very genuine and honest and it also helps when they have lots of ability.

“I suppose Doncaster could be a possibility for her over Christmas and I suppose you would have to work back from the Mares’ Chase at the Festival.”

Needs a stone of improvement surely, 9 years old...errrrr maybe Skelton can find a bit more under the bonnet, I'd rather chance one of the young guns against her off level weights in graded company.

Daft as it sounds being by canford cliffs. She should get enough of an upgrade to get in the national
