2026 Novice Hurdlers

Anyone have any thoughts on whether no drama this end goes for turners or Albert Bartlett at the festival ? Looks a good one to me 👍🏼

Nicholls said he'd mind him I think, so wouldn't have thought the Bartlett would be an option.

Turners seen as less demanding so I went with this, that's even if they turn up to Cheltenham at all.

Thanks for the info.
He ran in him in the bumper last season on ground that wouldn't suit. Surely he will go to the festival again this year ?

Hopefully he takes his chance (assuming all goes well leading up to the festival).

Screamed Bartlett to me yesterday. It was a trial for it after all. Guess we'll find out more next time but I thought he showed a lot of stamina

Well Riskabahia has doubled in price. 2 years off the track, i wasn't expecting much. Been out doing a foreigner so missed the race. How was her jumping? I don't care about the finishing place.

She did ok considering, jumping seemed fine. Looked as though she just tired as she looked like possibly getting involved and then just tired very quickly before the last. I won’t be going in again but will keep the ticket see how she gets on next time.

Cheers Craig. She would have taken a massive blow too i suspect and will come on a bundle. Should be up to winning a maiden next time out so will make a move on her now.

Race was run ridiculously slow. Saw a little after the start they were travelling at 22mph so ended up a sprint. The time was 10 seconds slower than the 3yo maiden run before and almost 15 seconds slower than the handicap after. Riskabahia was keen early and wasn't given a hard time when chance had gone. Looked beforehand to be an informative race but unfortunately the lack of pace and sprint finish made it less so.

He's quite exciting and looked the part when he won his bumper at Cork. Going on his home work I'd say he's more of a two-and-a-half-mile horse than a two-miler, but we'll see what happens. He's nice and I'm looking forward to seeing how high he can climb over hurdles.

Now this is one I like. We didn't get a straight run with him last season, but he's back in work now and if we can keep him right he could go far. He's very nice.

Nice introduction by Harry Lowes there.

Not sure he beat much, but that's to be expected at this stage of the season.

33/1 for the Turners before the race now a best price of 16/1.

Not a great price, but given he won almost as easily as Mydaddypaddy did, yet is double the price, it's not in the realms of ridiculous for me.

My view. Theflyingking travels and jumps like a 3 mile novice. Might be worth a punt on the AB but health warning is that Gordon might be placing and running him for a crack at the Martin Pipe or another Handicap. Anyone else got a view ?

Think it was @Lobos who mentioned this back when the decs were made. You can boost to 17.5/1 TWAR with Hills for the cover.

Pulled himself up there when he had the race won, couldn't back him with stolen as he's now thrown away 2 races, the engine is there, just ungenuine imo.

It'll depend on the mark he gets vs others in the yard.
But the front 2 in that last race looked like graded types to me.
Might not be top notch classy types and get beat over shorter trips against Mullins best.
But definitely bartlett types IMO

Was coming on to say the same myself.

Looked like he was trying to pull himself up on the run in. Not a good sign.

Definitely didn't like being whipped and hung away from it.
But I think the other horse is just better and his jump at the last wasn't as good which he recovered on the flat and wore the other down.
Both look like stayers to me anyhow, so good performances from both in my book.

Were there any quotes from Dan Skelton around after this one winning yesterday?
