2026 Champion Hurdle

…pop this in here as well;

Lads offer Anzadam FF/CH 20-1
Has to be the bet for any Anzadam fans. Win and he goes close to fav. Lose and he's probably heading elsewhere.

…I suppose it depends on whether any other firm goes bigger.

Yeah, that’s not bad if folks really fancy Anzadam

Big ask for him up against TNL and Con Hill, should be 3rd fav for the FF for me
Yeah, odd that he's second fav for FF but twice the price of Constitution Hill for the Champion Hurdle?

Constitution Hill 25/1 FF,Xmas Hdl & CH with Coral
The New Lion 12/1 for the same treble

Constitution Hill 16/1 FF& CH Ladbrokes
Going by the latest Stable Tour comments from Dan, it doesn't sound like he thinks the Xmas Hurdle/Kempton will suit TNL so I'd be wary of doing the above Treble.

Is it just me or does anyone else think Anzadam is a tad overhyped? Beating Kala Conti & Beacon Edge doesn't scream champion hurdle material. Yes he could be anything but the form isnt anything special

Throw in that he's clearly fragile/difficult to keep sound and for all the percieved ability, he's one you only really want to cover on the day imo.

A little movement in the market today for a number of runners. Things hotting up

Lossiemouth cut to 4's with Star Sports and they've pushed State Man out to 13/2. TNL and CH also clipped in by the same firm.

Id imagine if he's in the field on the day then he'd be close to fav.

Interesting as Gavin Lynch seems convinced that Lossie goes Mares Hurdle, even if Willie has others with good chances in the same race

Also that he thinks Willie likes giving Champs the opportunity of winning races again at the Festival and therefore State Man is value at 7/1, even accepting the supposed age trend issue, which he is a main protagonist about !🤪

After the win of French ship yesterday and having backed the new lion for the champion hurdle (back in march, wouldn't go near it at current price though), I'm taking yesterday's victory as a tnl form boost !

ANZADAM
"I think Anzadam might be good enough to go down the Champion Hurdle route and we’re probably looking at the Morgiana potentially as a starting point. He’s a horse I’d like to go novice chasing with at some stage, but it looks like we’re staying over hurdles this year."

No Fighting 5th then ??

All this talk about lossie going champion hurdle or mares.....she wouldn't even be good enough to win the champion hurdle .... Listen to last year's comments from trainer/jockey/owner ... Ricci even said "maybe she's just a very good mare, not a champion hurdle"

Agree. He also turned round after her Xmas Hurdle defeat and said "stuffed, back to the drawing board".

That isn't what you would hope to hear.

Golden Ace being the current Champion makes this a tough argument imo.

Fully expect she'll go Mares again though, as long as State Man holds his form or Anzadam stays in one piece.
