2025 Antepost flat racing

I like bellum justum tomorrow

Took 9/2 on my lunch break earlier

Checked after work and he was 5/2 so seems plenty saw the same

Won first time out last season
Will love the ground
Ancient wisdom will either hate the ground or be a non runner
Sunway doesn't like winning

Knew my fate pretty early with that one. Too keen in the early stages.

Was correct to take the top two on but chose the wrong one.

Tracker horses that interest me tomorrow:

Mountain Breeze
Rashabar
Crown Of Oaks
Secret Theory

Early in the season so anything can happen.

Mountain Breeze - woeful run
Rashabar - 2nd
Crown Of Oaks - Bloggered
Secret Theory - Won but 2nd looks useful also after being trapped to the rail

Back fresh off holiday and getting stuck into Opera Ballo @ 11/2 with William Hill for the Craven.

Not bothered about jockey bookings, with Buick being on the other one. I really fancied Opera Ballo for the 2k Guineas, and the Craven is a weaker race, so no reason not to go max bet for me now in a weaker race.

Only 16/1 on Betfair exchanges but still 25/1 with skybet for the 2000 guineas…….. won’t be there for long, they are mostly 9 points bigger than everyone else!

Looks a half decent roll up opportunity too. I've doubled him up with Croix Du Nord for the Japanese 2000 Guineas on Sunday.

Bitterly disappointing, that. Gave himself no chance by being way too keen through that first 4f.

The winner was impressive

He looks to have trained on nicely

See he's favourite for the guineas now. Bit short for my liking

The distance he beat Wimbledon hawkeye and aomori city puts him at a similar level to hotazhell and scorthy champ

Has appleby said anything about shadow of light?

I don’t know a lot about the flat…..but to me Shadow Of Light looks absolutely tailor made to the Commonwealth Cup! Not sure if the mile would stretch him a bit, if I’m remembering the Dewhurst correctly he was all out to repel the late challenges.

It’s just when to play him. I’m holding off just now as if he goes Guineas and is beaten he’ll drift.

He has today and there's a video of his gallop.

I'd agree before the dewhurst but he did extremely well to win that having raced on the wrong side of the track

I usually avoid the speedy ones but they are normally quite short and the will they stay isn't taken into account in their price

8/1 on the dewhurst winner is big imo

Agree if he loses lump on for the commonwealth cup as he trounced them in the middle park

Gonna re watch the dewhurst then decide. It'll all be about whether buick can get him to settle.

Just watched the dewhurst back and I definitely wouldn't say he was all out to repel late challenges

He was the one who made the late challenge having raced away from the 2nd/3rd

Looked like those two were a few lengths in front at the 2 pole and he made up the ground running by himself with no company.

I'm happy to take the 8s on what I feel is by some distance the most talented horse in the race

If he stays he wins, if he doesn't stay i took 8s so haven't lost much

The dewhurst is almost always the best 2yo race

Doesn't always produce the winner of this (you wouldn't expect it too) but the recent winners

City of troy, derby winner top class 3yo
Chaldean, guineas winner
native trail, guineas 2nd, irish guineas winner
St marks basilica, french guineas winner top class 3yo
Pinatubo, not as good at 3 but won prix jean prat
too darn hot, missed guineas with set back won prix jean prat and sussex stakes
US Navy flag, 2nd in Irish guineas won July cup
Churchill, dual guineas winner

Crocetti @ 33/1 e/w NRNB The Quokka

Group 1 winner in NZ has his first race in Australia.
Came 2nd to Alabama Lass LTO who went on to win in Aus.
It's a very tough race but 33/1 looks an e/w chance

STAR OF LIGHT 33/1 OAKS

Beautifully bred by Frankel out of Star Catcher.

Has her first start of the season on Friday at sundown in a race Gosden tends to target having won the race in 3 of the past 4 years.
I'll be watching with fingers crossed for a good performance

By frankel out of sea the stars mare that won the ribblesdale, irish oaks, prix vermeille and champion stakes is a serious pedigree

Youd be hoping she wins cosily then goes musidora before the oaks

Iv just had a small play on windlord for the derby at a boosted 75/1

hoping he wins on Friday at Sandown. Then maybe goes to the Dante.

the form of the beresford stakes he finished 3rd in worked out very well. The winner won the racing post trophy and the 2nd won the criterium de saint cloud.

And personally i thought he was the best horse in that beresford. Ridden cold at a track notoriously hard to make up ground from the back.

Hes by dubawi and his grand dam is 14 time group 1 winner goldikova. So hes bred to be top class and to train on.

The 1m4f may be a question but hes a horse i want to follow this season.

Opening price of 3/1 with pp is almost too tempting to turn down but I'll leave her alone for tomorrow's run and just watch how she gets on.

That's an interesting race. Looking at Windlord's DI and CD it shows he may struggle to stay 12f but they said that about Golden Horn too.
The current 2nd fav I Am I Said put in an RPR of 95 on debut which is not to be sniffed at.
Good days racing to digest.

It will all depend on how he settles. He pulls tomorrow the derby trip may well be too far.

But i only needed 0.2pts on at 75s

He could easily end up dropping back to a mile after tomorrow depending on how he settles. Could then be a st james palace horse (though juddmonte aren't exactly struggling for milers atm)

Will be plenty of horses that get beaten that will win next time running tomorrow id say

Tracker at the ready

Safe to say i don't think my big price on windlord for the derby will be landing

Was not expecting them to make the running

Prepared to give him another go next time but he's no derby winner and looks like he may be a bridle merchant

Star of light looked extremely raw and green. Has a lot of growing up to do.

Tarima runs for dermot weld tomorrow in the salsabill stakes. Up to 1m2f. I took some 100/30 earlier hopefully she runs a big race.

Im pretty surprised she didnt open up fav. Catalinadelcarpo did cost 400k but tarima wouldve been more than double that if shed gone to the sales.

Weld won this race last year with ezeliya who then won the oaks

I'd imagine if Tarima wins she will be supplemented for Epsom. Shame shes not already in as id like to back her.
