Inthepocket (Arkle) boosted to 10/1 and Langer Dan (Stayers) boosted to 50/1 on 365 ahead of Upping The Ante today. Both top industry prices.

Aye EE said the other day, 365 were cheeky and cut the 10/1 last week to 8/1 probably knowing what was going to put up this week, so they’ve just boosted him to what price he actually was. Wankers!

Hi everyone, just an update on this.

Thanks to everyone who filled it out, I have developed my first AI model, with a lot of help from the data submitted by FJs which I utmost appreciate and it has been a great success, with over the course of around 2000 races, betting 1 pt the model returns around +1200 pts. Will be more than happy to share more when I have submitted it in a few months time but as a few people asked for some updates as time went on, I thought I'd give one as without the help of FJs filling out the survey this wouldn't have been possible

That's some effort! I assume the racing post smart card and atr predictor are similar tools? Do you know what they use to come up with a "winner"? Are your results across flat and jumps? Does it seem to perform better for one over the other? Looking forward to hearing more as and when you're ready :eagerness:

Not sure for them, at the moment I've only tested using the jumps data over the last 20 years, currently it operates at around a 30% strike rate which provided with the fact that it doesn't always pick favourites allows it to generate a profit. Had winners as big as 66/1 and when I look at the form myself for those horses, I could never have picked them.

The plan is to test with flat racing data soon, same with being able to scrap a racecard directly from the racing post website and have it predict future races using the same parameters which are being fed in for training the model on all of the historical data it is being trained on

Id keep HCH until entries for the Xmas period, which will happen by the end of the week I think - then reassess. If he doesn't get an entry, I'll be (trying to) cash him out myself :encouragement:

FYI. High Class Hero entered in the 3m G1 Racing Post Long Distance Novice S'chase at Leopardstown on Boxing Day. We live in hope !

Anyone know off top of their heads, what is max payout on coral/lads?

I've heard conflicting reports on this sort of stuff before, I think it's 250k for antepost racing bets, but I also think I've heard occasions where bookies may have honoured the bet and paid out more than that, but I can't be sure.

Yeah had a quick scan online, seen 100k, 250k and 1 mill

Cheers mate

100,000 i believe , coz anytime i type in a big multi , that's what comes up at the bottom of the screen .
Maybe different for Singles though .

I agree, this has been the same with me, however, I've just noticed this evening on both Lads and Coral the max payout had gone back up to 1million from 100k for Chelt antepost multiples.

No idea what is happening!!

Thanks mate.

Leaves an interesting conundrum if he's declared. Really he shouldn't win a Grade 1 first time out so his price should lengthen after the race. At the same time I wouldn't want to cash out in case he did win or ran close...

Agreed. I am going to stick with the bet. And if he loses but I like what I see on the day I'll go back in when his price lengthens. Good luck.

Yes mate agree and good luck you as well :encouragement:
For what it's worth, I'm hoping he runs in the 2m5f race that Galopin ran in. Not sure entries are out for that yet but I'd prefer him running in that to the 3m Grade 1 FTO.

Great to meet you all! Selfishly my first post is after some guidance. Heading to York over the Boxing Day period and want to find a nice pub on Boxing day that will show all the racing. Any idea's?

Side note - Optimistic antepost punting worrying about max payouts is exactly why I joined this forum!

I remember that race. GDC won it by a country mile 20+ lengths didn't he. And then went to the Turners and Fell at the last when about 10 lengths clear. Well one thing I don't think HCH will be going to the Turners in March. But yes I agree 2m5f first time over fences would be a better option. But for now I'm just glad the indication is he goes jumping and not to the Stayers.

:highly_amused: Brilliant - Being deluded is the primary quality required for any member. :encouragement:

The Old Bank would normally have racing, it's just over the river (central), but I'd imagine there's a few more.
