2023 Albert Bartlett Novices Hurdle

I have read it again and still can't see where you get Ballymore from. The comments are actually under the highlighted Albert Barteltt heading as well.

I think the heading is irrelevant. For example, under the Albert Bartlett section he talks about Cool Survivor and promptly says he might go for the Martin Pipe. You read the section titled Ballymore and, if you read it as written, then Absolute Notions may go there but he may miss it entirely. If this were the case then, according to the article, Gordon may have no Ballymore horse which I doubt very much. Hence the headings are irrelevant, they’re just editing additions to the article. The quote regarding AM is not clear IMO, particularly when there are more clear quotes to the contrary in other articles.

Hiddenvalley lake vs corbetts Cross at clonmel on Thursday
Gonna be very tough for Hiddenvalley lake to give 6lb to a 143 horse

He wins that he'd be a deserving fav for this

Even a close 2nd given the weights would be encouraging

Think both of them are live chances

I think (and hope) Hiddenvalley Lake just has that bit of class to be able to see off Corbetts Cross. Monty's Star could be interesting for the same trainer, the colours are no strangers to this race either.

One thing we all know is stats were made to be broken

Ginto may well have done last year had tragedy not struck

Gordon would likely have 3 short priced novice chase favs had he not broken down

MP turner's
Ginto BANC
Gerri Colombe NHC

Yep, might be broken one year.

Favourites have won it before, at least 2 I can recall.
So not even a thing.:smiley_simmons:

Rare though. Normally a big price too. Look for something 14/1+ on the day.

Shanbally kid fits the non favourite bill pretty well. :surprise:

Pretty surprised Hiddenvalley lake is favourite against corbetts Cross tomorrow

He has plenty to do at the weights

Hopefully a sign of how much they think of him

It'll take a good performance to win tomorrow, hopefully he's up to the task though.

I really don't like Tom Segal but IMO he's spot on re FDC. A horse can't really win a better race emphatically than the one he won at Limerick with the view to the AB. Lots of festival winners and placers run in that race and he's ran the joint highest RPR in 10 years. Clearly had issues but it seems those are behind him. We haven't seen much of him but what we have seen looks very good. Unbeaten. Improving with each run. Beat Letsbeclearaboutit easily and he's followed up since with a 22L win at Puncehstown. With Gordon who will win the AB eventually with one of these Gigginstown horses. Double figure price based on everything we know now is a must take IMO

Completely agree with all of this. My nagging doubt is that bloody entry over here where he was fishing for a mark. He got 141 which seemed so lenient. I just can't get it out of my head that he'll end up in a handicap.

Agree I love FDC but the mark fishing is the only thing stopping me basing my week around him
