2023 Albert Bartlett Novices Hurdle

Jordan Gainford on FDC Davy on Search for Glory

20 runners

Sky 6 places in this. Might get the others going up to 5 or 6 with the number of runners.

Yes, by 9 lengths.

I haven't backed him (might do on the day) but if Three Card Brag doesn't win, I hope he comes in for you as that price on the exchange you've got is outrageous.

Thank you my friend. You'll be pleased to note that I have a heavy amount on TCB too. Either would do me fine. Could be a super race. Such a deep race.

Did Meyler keep the ride on corbetts cross or is mark walsh onboard now

Do we think Corbetts Cross would of won? I think he would, wondering where he'll end up in the future.

I’m a founding member of his fan club … but no, I don’t think he would. He was too keen the whole way round. Tanked down the hill. Then was off the bridle when he ran out. The incident put the horse (sans his jockey) back a few lengths, but otherwise it didn’t really seem to affect him and he wasn’t gaining when he got up to speed again. I think he’d have finished 4th.

I don’t think it was wise to run him so close to the festival. I don’t think it surprising the top 5 all last had a run between 10 and 6 weeks before the festival.

I was convinced he was class and would head to the BANC next year. I still think he’s got the potential to be class but the juries out on whether he’s a true stayer at the trip.

The run over 2 miles was likely a contributing factor to him not settling either

Strange placing that

Fair comments, thanks. EE you'll know the horse more than me but I thought maybe he would of pulled out more at the finish.

The run over 2m apparently was to not tire him out before the festival, as it was so close. Agree though didn't like that either, alas never had any money on, was with Hiddenvalley Lake.

No. He was beginning to be placed under pressure when he ran out and the winner was going better. Would definitely have been placed though.

I’d agree with Los Lobos

Near enough won.

Hes been rated 151 RPR for the race
1lb less winner,and the same as 2nd and 3rd.

I wouldn’t look to disagree with that.

Thats a 152 over 2M, followed by a 151 over 3M, in a Grade 2, and Grade 1 only nineteen days apart.

Thats pretty good going.

Makes Found A Fifty look a useful NovCH recruit next year too
