Better Days Ahead is still 12/1 any race with Sky or Hills, that must be the sensible play now?

Wise bet I feel just in case he goes hurdling after this.

KOK is a strange one with those owners not caring for the Champion Bumper, I’m not going to get sucked in with that one.

Not backed anything in the bumper but BDA was the 2nd most impressive 4yo P2P winner for me last season so I wouldn't cash. He could come out and win the bumper by miles in a good time with Elliott's other horse on Saturday not doing as well.

Go on then, I'll bite. Is your no. 1 Barry The Butcher?

Yeah though I think he's slightly flattered by his winning margin to Croke Park who had a few traffic problems and got caught flat footed when BTB made his move.

I really like The Gooner but Jonjo will turn him into a handicapper no doubt.

Haha I bet your notes look a bit like mine. When I see a horse gone to Jonjo, it simply says 'Handicap' :highly_amused:

American Mike & Better Days Ahead both running on the Friday smells like the owners can't make the Saturday to me.
There are logical reasons why it doesn't matter either way and logical reasons not to jump to conclusions IMO.

I think the reason American Mike is in the 2m6f and not the 2 miler could be that Gordon has a serious 2 mile prospect in there and doesn't want them clashing??

Didn't think of that. That's solid thinking :encouragement:

Is there any inclination that BDA will go over hurdles this year?

Maybe Gordon/Bective are aware of the trends of previous DR meetings and Cheltenham targets so are deliberately shaking things up as to not ruin the price? :welcoming:

All aboard the BDA Bumper/AM Ballymore double!

…KoK into 8-1 TWAR now.

Looking like 12-1 is as good as it gets now (Oddschecker showing 14-1 PP, but it’s actually 12-1 on site).

What price was American Mike this time last year ?

….I’ve got 20-1 TWAR (Sky) in July but no idea how that fluctuated.

22-1 Lads (presume with boost) for the bumper on 15th Oct.

If my memory serves me right. American Mike was 20-1. and i made an A/P bet on his run at Down Royal .
Said the girl in the Bookies . if he wins here he'll be 10-1. , Think he was actually cut to 12's.

Aye, 10s to 12s sounds like the price he should be after winning the race. Not before it!

Does seem really short especially as he's not even been declared for the race yet.

stupid price and muggy betting I reckon.
A 4yr old gigginstown bumper horse. out of vadamos.
not even declared for a race yet.

Quite happy to sit out the King of Kingsfield pile on for now, on breeding alone he makes very little appeal. Can anyone honestly envisage a horse with his profile being the best bumper horse around?! I'd be very disappointed if he was, it'd have to be a bang average year at best, i'm finding it difficult to imagine him even placing. Sexy looking RPR from his PTP but there's barely any form to go on from it (Not KOK's fault) and what there is is total dog egg. Gigginstown with all they've had in their armoury down the years have never had anything in the first 3 of the bumper. It's not for me Clive.

I don’t believe there’s been any real money for this horse
Bookmakers deviously creating a false gamble to draw in mug punters

Bit harsh perhaps but agree it does smell a bit .
