So many with chances, you could easily back 6 and not get a place.

I've done Eclair Surf with a Coral free bet and Run Wild Fred and De Rasher Counter with the bet365 offer.

all with B365

Escaria Ten
Freewheelin Dylan
Fiddlerontheroof
Burrows Saint
and Santini because i would be annoyed if it placed and i wasnt on

Plus the each way doubles with Scheffler already posted

Very long list:
Course form: Any Second Now, Burrows Saint, Snow Leopardess, Domain de Lisle
Irish: Enjoy d'Allen, School Boy Hours, Freewheelin Dylan (Mount Ida????)
GB: Fiddlerontheroof, Two for Gold, Mighty Thunder, Commodore, Deise Aba, Eclair Surf

Medium long list:
Any Second Now, Burrows Saint, Domain de Lisle, Enjoy d'Allen, School Boy Hours, Freewheelin Dylan, Fiddlerontheroof, Mighty Thunder, Eclair Surf, Commodore

With Mighty Thunder you have to trust the wind op but being a dual goodish ground national winner can one ignore it? Fiddlerontheroof seems made for the race if he takes to the fences and Eclair Surf's form was given a huge boost by Win My Wings: plenty of staying power. Commodore may be too exuberant but has a good jockey/trainer combination.

Fortescue boosted by supposed heavy ground horse Sam Brown

Carnage, think I was about 6 binned slips in the first mile! Couple of places in the end was as good as it got for me. Well done to anyone who found that!

I knew when Waley-Cohen got to the elbow he would win - it's called retiring on a high. First 7-y-o since the dark ages! Noble Yeats - a poetic reference? The bonfire of the reputations.

Commodore's jockey had lost his irons.

Same:biggrin-new: enjoy d'allen, burrows saint, school boys hours and eclair surf all down in first mile and a bit!

Emmet Mullins is never getting a horse in a handicap with less than a stone rise for a long time

I backed him purely because a couple of years ago I backed Magic of Light at Cheltenham and didn't for the national and she came 2nd at 125/1

probably worked out about a 3/1 winner :welcoming:

Starting to consider my 50% stake refunds on b365 as my only returns today. Site still down

Sadly Discorama has died after the race. Tough horse and he was a credit to his connections. Paul has had some rotten luck as well with losing two of his stable stars this season.

A very good prediction there Archie !! :highly_amused:. . Sum's my day up. . in fact , 1st fence 2 went , 2nd fence 2 went and third or 4th another one went.
one of my selections ran well and was looking good ( freewheelin dylan ) , and then the Dream was over for another Year !.

Well this race was a painful watch.

Noble Yeats was one of my biggest handicap winners of the week for the Cheltenham Festival, convinced he'd been laid out for a handicap, and I even wrote on the 25th Feb in my diary that the National would be his target, but obviously I didn't back him for the race, FML :highly_amused:

I think, like many, seemed to be on a load that fell or got brought down very early on, and that was that, as they say.

It was also very sad to hear the passing of both Discorama (Paul Nolan has had awful luck this season) and Eclair Surf :sorrow:

Having had time to think about this and get over the loss of two heroic horses, the only firm lesson I can draw is that the Irish dominance of the race continues: 3 out of the first 4, 4 out of the first 6 and 7 out of the first 9.
