Has anyone had a Cheltenham 2022 punt yet

I think it's important now to devise an early ante post strategy specifically around Cheveley Park Stud. Their dominance with a small number of horses is staggering. 3 winners this week that probably should have been 4, and with a few injured horses too. When you think they have less than 20 horses in training in Ireland it really is impressive. Anything they have bought for 500k probably makes sense to just blind back at 33/1+ because their strike rate is brilliant.

Classic Getaway and Grangeclare West are on my shortlist, any others?

A RAB that's been added recently and caught my eye is Shewearsitwell, Ferny Hollow, Journey With Me and Energumene all to place 80/1.

couldn't resist an early one after seeing all them big winners

Vanillier RSA 16/1, Bob Olinger Marsh 4/1, Allaho Ryanair 5/1, Ferny Hollow Champion Hurdle 25/1 4 fold

Willie mentioned about Allaho potentially going Champion Chase.

Yeah I read that, but I think ultimately they'll stick to the middle distance. They've already messed him about over 3 mile, once everything has settled they'll realise this is his trip and they can get a sequence going in the Ryanair.

Agreed, should stick to 2m 4/5f. I guess Willie has got Energumene on his mind also and would want to split them.

Problem is there aren't many 2m4f races for him in Ireland other than the John durkan

So he will have to probably prep over 3 miles again

Hopefully they aim him at the king George not the savills

First Post Cheltenham bets placed today only small stakes. Dusart (Arkle) and Bravemansgame (RSA) double at 440-1. And Vanillier (RSA) and Eklat De Rire (Gold Cup) double at 1100-1.

Brave man opposing the Irish in novice chasers.
Have to say, and I haven't fully considered where I'll focus next years efforts, but I'll struggle to get with any UK horse that isn't Thyme Hill or Shishkin...

Gordon/Sneezy have their 300k Walk in the Park store Bellatior entered up in a bumper on the 25th. Owned by the Mount Ida crew who are another new owner pumping in the money.

Quite literally ... must say I do like Bravemansgame. I think he’ll be a better horse for a longer trip and fences.

Does anyone have a view on how Willie splits his next year? He namechecked the Arkle for AI, but I felt that was more a case of him assuming (and thinking everyone else had assumed too) that he’d be a Marsh horse, and he was suggesting that the Arkle shouldn’t be ruled out.

I think he’ll send FH to Arkle, AI to Marsh and GDM to RSA.

I’ve also got a feeling Bob might get 3 miles ...

I agree and it's probably factored into there prices but I feel Dusart has the potential to be top class. He has a lack of experience but to do what he did first time against Soaring Glory was impressive, and as much as Nicky has had a poor season he still won 2 of the novice chases this year.

Bravemansgame was always talked of as a staying chaser for next season and I thought his run on the ballymore was solid enough, for me the ballymore was the best of the 3 novice hurdles by some way and I'd expect BMG and GDM to take front rank in the RSA. Contradicts me backing Vanillier but I think he's overpriced for easily winning the Bartlett. For what it's worth I think we might get a clash between BO and AI in the Marsh next year which is why I've left that alone for now.

Personally I see Ferny Hollow staying over hurdles for a crack at the CH and Quilixious going over fences for the Arkle.
