Fulke Walwyn KIM MUIR Challenge Cup Amateur Riders Handicap

That's what I said? "The excitement and comparison to Unthinkable Boxer was surely that he was 140.... knowing he's nearer 150...."

I'm already on in the Ultima, (hoping that 147 will stick).... if it doesn't, I'll probably cash....as he's not got much in hand off 147. IMO

Hes only had 3 chase starts so we dont know his ceiling as yet ..hes run against horses with marks so its not hard to estimate what hes achieved in ratings terms ..although his ability to reproduce that in a race such as the Ultima is the key question. i cant think of any horse winning that race on handicap debut ..shouldnt think many have tried..should think theres a reason for that . The Cheltenham Handicaps are pretty established and he would be miles off the usual profile for the race..no doubt the mark ..should it be replicated ..is fair ..not sure (1) he would go for the race..the owners would have others that would have better profiles in terms of experience (2) he would have the experience to handle the pace and field size (3) his nrnb price is poor..since only one firm is betting on it ..imho

He's 147....
on racing post racecard anyway :highly_amused:

Which ones will be running on merit, which ones will be wanting to lower their mark....

Must be a combination in there somewhere :highly_amused:

Most likely only one will run.
Roaring Bull ?

Be a quick turn around for Farclas

all doubtful runners.
he's entered at least another 5 runners from what I can see.

Yes hopefully that's right, I wouldn't really want any of them running in terms of ante post.

Gordie's got 11 entries in the race....hopefully Run Wild Fred stays in his box.

I've looked at this race many times and the only horse I think is going to win this is 'School boy hours'. I just don't understand how and why Run wild fred is favourite for this and SBH is 33/1 and 16/1 NRNB. I haven't put a single on this but I may do and just take that 16/1 because the mark of 135 the horse is on is just too good it sounds. I've watched its previous races and the horse seems to want this trip and I just don't understand why it's such a high price unless the horse won't run in this but I can't seem to see why it won't.

You won't read anything bad from me about him.

I've mentioned him a couple of times on here, I don't get how he is 33/1 as you have said when RWF is as short as he is. Form ties have him the value bet for sure.

Half Brother to Finians Oscar, he has ran in some decent Beginners Chases.

Dam is a half-sister to Champion Chase winner Finians Rainbow too, so a very qood quality NH family.

He made a big impression on me on hurdles debut (worth watching) when he absolutely flew, after not really being put in the race, and finished 3rd. No surprise really as the favourite (another JP horse) was heavily supported that day and won.

I’ve dilly dallied for a while about adding him and I can’t really put my finger on why as the case is pretty attractive (I think it might have been COD who first brought him onto my radar for this race). The trainer puts me off slightly when it comes to the Festival although I’m not completely sure that’s justified, it’s just an automatic reaction. I try my best to keep to NRNB for handicaps at this stage but the 14s doesn’t interest me at all.

Sod it, I’m joining you. 33s with cash out is too big.

Yeah, I've tried contacting the yard and staff but no one has responded. Just trying to find out his well being as he's not had any further entries, but that could also be because they don't want to ruin his mark.

Trainer was one negative, but only because we are so used to Gordon winning a lot of the handicap chases :highly_amused:

Great case made I've backed him with 365. 33-1 seems huge when you look through his form.

School Boy Hours ?

Someone should tweet someone in the know about this horse as I'd want to know he's well.

Could be this years Diol Ker as I've not spotted any entries, and he's not run since December, and we've just had some valuable staying chases over in Ireland.

It is surprising he hasn't been cut yet (School Boy Hours)....

The price has held for what seems like ages.

I backed him back on 31st Jan and 5th Feb and COD had been banging on about him for ages before that because I specifically remember thinking to myself it was 'so long' ago that I read about it that it would be too out of the blue to mention :highly_amused:

You start to wonder because the form does look so good (and it does look a little obvious) then is there something wrong? :distant:

His UK rating would also be a concern, and no entry to find this out either.
Although it does seem only Gordon does this, and sometimes for no apparent reason :highly_amused:
