Supreme Novice Hurdle 2019

It wouldn't matter if John Francome in his prime was on Elixir, all playing second fiddle to the cert that is Al Dancer.

I don't think he'll even place.

I have him backed at 16s but my first race sky bet defo won't be going on him.
1) Handicappers are 0 from 49 in Supreme
2) Twiston Davies is talking up this horse the same way he talked up Ballyandy (4th) in 2017
3) Personally think there is better horses in the race

It's between Angel's Breath, Elixir De Nutz & Aramon for me...

I hope many more people think the same you as Gilly I really do...

I agree with Gilly, I can’t see past these 3, not sure which one of these wins it but these are the 3 I’m backing with an e/w bet on Itchy Feet as a back up.

AB not enough experience and needs further anyway. EDR will just be setting this up given his run style and Aramon will be held up and wont quicken in a race pace like he will never have encountered on ground and a course not his ideal by any means. That so called handicapper Al Dancer{yeah right} has all the bases covered .

This has happened again... D JACOB!! sayings hes riding Elixr yesterday! What the hell is going on. I havent a penny on Elixr and still peeed of about the Le Breuil thing again.

A day after the 6 days decs are in and the only horse I've ruled out at sub 20/1 is Felix Desjy.

I'm also kind of not with Fakir D'oudaries .... but only kind of.

7th run over hurdles after 11 runs on the flat, bred out of Monsun and Ruby hardly has much of an opinion of him.

Yeah we need to remember that on balance Quick Grabim was better than Aramon.

And Willie is on record very recently - basically saying none of these novice hurdlers are his usual cheltenham horses, but due to the ground they've been pushed into the limelight. And other more likely types are sat twiddling their thumbs.

That's not to say they might not be good enough, but it does hint that he didn;t think they would be at the start of the season.

I do like Klassical dream to go close in this if they run it here though.

Those 7 hurdles runs include a grade 3 win, and 3 grade 1's with form 312 - beaten a head in one of them.

The history books wouldn't remember him as a terrible winner..... but I do see what you're saying

Those graded races in Ireland are absolutely woeful this year. He's a hound and shit out in the last race.

History books won't care :p

Better than PLENTY of the others winning it?!

Al Dancer would be the anomoly, the only 'handicapper' .... Angel's Breath would be the Charli Parcs that managed to win it... Fakir the first 4 year old in 20 years ...

It's weak no matter who wins it? .... without the glorious benefit of hindsight anyway...

The Supreme hasn’t always had stellar winners, there’s plenty of solid winners over the last 15 years and very few star quality. We were blessed by Douvan, Vautour and Altior three years running, but that’s unusual.

Remember Cinders and Ashes, Ebaziyan, Captain Cee Bee etc.

There are plenty of decent types in it, and I prefer that, as abetting medium to one standout shorty who’s price you missed three months ago.

Angel’s Breath to improve for the run and experience LTO and win, but there are plenty of other worthy options too.

Mister fisher at 11/1 is a solid bet in this. All the right noises coming from Hendo and Nico. Nico recently stating that his decision not to ride Mister Fisher was a difficult one.

What did you expect him to say? I think it's one of a handful with a chance btw - but I'd have been amazed if he'd said anything different. Sometimes I wish that just for a laugh one of these jockeys would turn round and say "It was an easy decision, the other one's 10lb inferior*". But they never do.

*I'm not suggesting this is the case here, just that 'the right noises from Hendo' in particular need to be taken with a pinch of salt - as yet I don't recall seeing Charli Parcs winning anything of note for instance.
