J.L.T Novices Chase 2019

He was flattered against a below par Delta Work. Looked slow last time. Dam stayed 3m6f. Potential winner of the National Hunt Chase, wins absolutely nothing here. Bonkers decision. Is Tim Radford advising Gigginstown on targets?

I agree he wants further but what makes you think DW underperformed? DW was flattered by Mortal's mistake if anything.

Mortal finished 10l ahead of Blow By Blow when behind Delta Work.

If that's not proof enough that he must be a machine then I don't know what is.

Added Blow By Blow 170, 160, 110 on the exchanges for this.

Mortal for me should be over further, i wouldn't back him here at all. Clearly a giggy decision and JOBs quote when he won suggests he wants him over a fair bit further.

Would've run a very fine race in 2nd if not clattering the last.....pleaaaaaaaase don't run him here.

I don't think Delta Work jumped or travelled as well as he had done previously. Even without the mistake I don't think Mortal would have found an extra gear.

Notice they have left Mortal in the National Hunt Chase and he is probably the biggest market mover 20/1-8/1. He is far shorter in the market than the other Gigginstown entries and far shorter than the other races he is entered in. As I said it should be pretty obvious which race he goes for.

I thought he jumped well he was hampered by Ben Dundee's fall early on. Delta Work is clearly the better horse travelled well and last off the bridle. That's good form, Mortal is a good horse.

The market move is to be expected after CC was taken out. We'll see if it's right.

It's a fair move if the horse isn't going to run.

Fingers crossed, it would make a nice change to get a bit of good fortune.

The market has been reformed doubt there was much money involved.

Ive forgotten to cash out my other Champagne Classic JLT bet and its now suspended :(

Anyone reckon they might leave him in more than one race?

Was at the preview night in d2 last night and JO'B said that Mortal would be running in this race.

Can't understand why Mortal not been backed for this, but has had money in the four miler.
Joseph has repeated that it comes here.
Jockey has been booked.
No other obvious gigginstown contender.
And we've been here before in this race when it's ended up being won by the strongest stayer (for those that think Mortal needs a trip)

Shattered Love
Black Hercules
Sir Des Champs

arguably one or two of the other winners also, but the ones above definitely stayers.

No money for Mortal possibly because people think he hasn't got any chance but they think he has a winning chance in the National Hunt Chase. I would have thought that is the simplest explanation.

Mengli Khan is an ex-Flat horse whose best days are almost certainly behind him.

As I said I doubt there has been much money involved it's just a reformed market. Mortal has the same OR as Kildisart. He's better than a 33/1 chance.

So much shite talked at these preview nights. Fact is, the trainers, race planners, jockeys can say what they feckin want - Michael O'Leary will make the decisions. Not Gordon, not Eddie, not Joseph or Jamie Codd, Rachel or Kevin Blake, Michael O'Leary will decide - probably badly - but he will make the calls. That's why he's not at Closhutton anymore - not about a few quid, about Willie not doing as he was told. You back this lots horses antepost at your peril. Fed up chasing Champagne Classic around all over the place. Should be in the JLT, wouldn't stay 4 miles and now he's apparently in a race where they have the hot fav. Go figure.
