Elegant Escape is a beast. Doubt him at your peril.

This race is all about stamina and EE has it 8n abundance and he fights like viking flagship.
Ready to peak.in the gold cup. Rated 162 currently the way a gold cup is ran will see a 176 performance from EE. Will really thrive in this race.
Gets better every single time, ready to dine at the big boy table now. Has come of age.

What was the excuse lto?

Is Cheltenham an issue with him? Surely your like to see him brush Frodon aside.

The Rsa bears no relevance here?

Elegant Escape is a completely different horse this season and still improving.

He has improved but I don't see a different horse. He is the same horse everyone wanted in the 4 miler yet Tizzard made the mistake of sending him down the RSA route. He was outclassed. Of course it is relevant.

The 9 ahead of him in the market seems fair as does a price of 25/1. If it was bottomless he could maybe hit the frame, but he has done nothing over 3m this season to make me think he could win a gold cup. He won the Welsh National well, but that cemented him as being in his comfort zone over a marathon trip. Over 3m this season he beat Thomas Patrick by half a length who spends more time being pulled up than competing at the business end of races. He ran well in a very weak Hennessy, beating Dingo Dollar by 7 lengths who couldn't beat a horse today rated in the 120's. He then went to Cheltenham and lost to Frodon who now looks Ryanair bound.

Anyway, enough on EE, no need for the GC thread on here to turn into the EE circus TRF became

Annoying thing for me is that I made a case for Elegant Escape not too long before he joined :highly_amused:

Haha - I can see the case for him at the prices Kev, he's no Presenting Percy though.

Nico absolutely thrilled with Might Bites work today. As my favourite horse in training, he can't can he?

Nico thrilled that he gets a ride...

I'd LOVe Might Bite to just go from the front, Feltham/RSA/Coneygree style (all under Nico)

He 'lost' his edge for me when they take a lead... he was burning off any horse that tried to pass him - now they allow him to get outstayed by anything that's already in front.

Wrong tactics, I couldn't back him witohut knowing they we're reverting to what used to work.... and I won't know that until it's too late...

Ista,
Ground???????? I thought he was a gd/st Horse? I would have thought he's very likely to get that ground.

Quicker the ground the better for him.
They'll make sure the ground never gets better than good to soft at any point and the forecast I've been looking at suggests rain pretty much every day up to and during the festival, so I'm expecting soft unless the forecast changes.

Whatever was wrong with Might Bite in the Autumn has cleared, he's a total screw so they may never know but his recent work is very very good...

countister couldn't get near him

Work is nothing like racing. MB is gone in the head and he's too old.

Yep.
Work Shmurk.
They all work well don't they, or they don't run.
They said the same before all his runs this season.
Like a boxer who always has the best training camp ever, until he gets his head knocked off in the first round.
Then they mention the cold he's suffered in the run up. or broken little toe:highly_amused:

Got some inside knowledge of riding plans?:devilish:

Yeah, one of the owners is on this forum I help moderate :highly_amused:

David Mullins is an absolute prime candidate to go on a bit of a roll (the momentum thread) in my opinion. When he breaks his duck I reckon he'll get a few over the line.

Was his brother on Shantou Flyer wasn't it, he's in the same position.

I'm not sure about Danny. They're both good on the right horse on the right day and they've ridden one each of my G1 winners.

I know it's a good natured wind-up but as I've said before, it's the reason behind the trend that interests me. If David has ridden 45 no hopers at Cheltenham, that would be meaningless. If he's ridden, say ten, losing favourites it bears a closer look. The truth is probably somewhere in between and I'm not planning on watching 45 race replays to find out.

Oh yeah, I 100% agree.

I am not dogmatic about momentum and confidence not being a factor though.

My gut tells me if he had a winner in the week, he'd be more likely to win the Gold Cup...

but that is ultimately impossible to know!
