Fat Jockey - Day Two Festival Yankee - Captain is bobbyvalentino

I have to say, as someone with an Any Race Delta Work slip at a big price, I've got a niggling feeling that he's going to come unstuck in the RSA. The challenge is by what? I've never much loved Santini (and it's probably outcome bias having missed prices, and Topofthegame is a solid horse but I'd be unsettled by Nicholl's record in G1s recently.

I think there's something at a bigger priced to be unlocked. I just don't know what yet

Always thought that a win yankee should have 2 shorter odds and 2 longer odds. The theory is that the short double pays most of the bet.

At their current prices, Delta Work and Tiger Roll fit the bill nicely but may not in a week's time.

Because of the going, the bumper form is all over the place and it's easy to see an unexposed type coming through.

No comment on any handicap until the weights are out.

My method for the Ballymore is to pick one Irish and one UK horse. If I can only have one, I leave it until I know the decs.

I like this idea if people can’t get comfortable with a Bumper selection.

Taking an example: Delta Work 7/2 (RSA), Tiger Roll 11/10 (XC), Cracking Smart 25/1 (CC) and Brewinupastorm 11/1 (BM) you get best odds 2948/1

A £2 Yankee would cost £22 with a max return of £11,877

I disagree. I think this is going to be a small field affair, with the next section of the market below all likely NRs. There is nothing 25/1+ that would interest me.

Drovers lane the only horse i would think could grab a place , wouldn't be confident he could win mind.

Chris's dream ??.

Delta work , Tiger Roll , City Island, Envoi allen.

Klassical Dream
Delta Work
Tiger Roll
Lethal Steps

I like Blue Sari too.

Not going to lose confidence in the Mullins' bumper horse at any stage between now and the race.

Friend or foe fred winter.

Every time he's down to work, he goes blue across the board shortly after. He's very well handicapped and has been purposely left on 128 for this.

You've got a sharper eye than me....

God he's short though.

Sounds like it is currently between Lethal Steps and Friend or Foe, but are we not looking at the wrong end of the market?

I seem to remember you saying he can win without carrying any of your doe Kev? Or did that 9/1 special on Coral have something to do with it haha

yes I did highlight at the time he was 9/1 Coral compared to 6/1 best price elsewhere so I took that completely on value grounds ... a 50% increase in his price.

I like Blue Sari ... I'd prefer Master Debonair however getting too bullish on the bumper doesn't seem too clever haha

I think you have to take Kev's point about Klassical Dream. With Willie, you'd always want the NRNB option or place the bet after final decs with a reserve in your back pocket.

I like the Yankee - maybe cracking smart as back up for the Ballymore horse

Doesn't sound like he will go

I'm 99% sure I'm picking Delta Work for this and sounds like most are in agreement

No , doesn't sound like he'll go , i was just making a suggestion . D.Work for me too.
