J.L.T Novices Chase 2019

I have a sneaky regard for Drovers Lane. Backed it both here and for the RSA but hoping it goes JLT. These are the only 2 entries it has.

CD Winner.

more likely RSA, like him as well, agree he's a good outsider

Arkle and Champion Chase very likely to have less than 8 go to post, bet each way now with AP rules you get 3 places, and some bookies are NRNB and BOG too...

My Vindication and Topofthegame tickets look like they are going in the bin... and looking at the market and the price of LOSTINTRANSLATION 9/2 (Yes Im sure loads of you are on bigger odds than that) but the Skybet offer has to be used on him. I think it and DDS will shorten. So time to use it.

Its a shame as I have a good record in JLT with the Irish over the years, mainly Mullins, but is Real steal good enough or even going to go here? Anyone else good enough?

Real Steel is way good enough BB, don't worry about that. Ruby will be patting him down the neck up the run in...

The Irish have dominated the JLT for a few years now but it’s a 2 horse race and credit to Hobbs & Tizzard for campaigning DDS & LiT all season for this race, they deserve to be the favourites and can’t see anything catching them over this distance

Really? Can't ever remember 2 such average horses being so short. LIt will make mistakes racing at Championship pace and DDS? Jeez! How anyone can have faith in him is a mystery. Only here because he's not good enough for The Arkle - if he's not outstayed in this I will be very, very surprised indeed. Could be a small field but still couldn't back either at the price. I'm on LIT 20/1 any race from way back but cannot have him now. Reel Steel, Kildisart, Voix De Reve all better value in my book and - if they decided to run Champagne Classic rather than Mengli Khant… well!

The Drinmore is the best novice chase form this season so far so it's ironic that the principals aren't contesting this race.

DDS is my Festival banker, I think he’s improved with each race and Phillip Hobbs has a solid record at Cheltenham so I’m all in on DDS

If Champagne Classic shows up here I will be all over it!

You have talked me in to Real Steel

Well.. not sure Hobbs horses are in the best of form now and DDS would be the last horse that I would go 'all in' on but good luck mate. Hope he doesn't curl up on the hill :devilish: We will see.

I may have got carried away when I stated banker of the Festival but I do think he will win. I would prefer Dckie Johnson ride DDS than BG but unfortunately that decision is out of my hands

I'm using the formline with Us and Them . Le Richebourg won by 7L comft. , but Hardline won by 10L easily . Why is LR vying for fav. and Hardline still available at 25's with Billies ? I'm going in again this is an outstanding bet .
Sorry wrong thread.

Hardline for JLT?

I'm all in on Real Steel for this.

Yep. Loved his prep last week. Jumped better (still improving) and the way he stretched away from the back of the last over 2m2f was awesome. Jumped the last around a length in front and accelerated away to win by 10 lengths. Willie will fine tune him for the day now. Ideal for this race.

Im not really sure about then hype for real steel in this....in his last race he was only about 2 lengths ahead of ladofhopeandglory at the last and then he goes away because the 2nd horse makes a mistake which stops his momentum.

I might be wrong but I'm sure Mullins said if he got beat that day then they would look at a handicap, when does Mullins ever talk about a graded performer like that? Think Mullins also said he's got more chance of his novice hurdlers winning a race then his novice chasers, seen as its not his strongest bunch of novice hurdlers he can't have much faith in his chasers. I know the tizzard can make a mistake but on the whole he's a much better jumper then real steel who looks a bit awkward over a fence.

Surley the top 2 have much the superior form then anything else at the moment and iv never liked DDS so it will be the tizzard horse for me. I don't think 5/1 is a bad price after reviewing the race.

Thats just my view, in case anyone is wondering I have backed real steel at 33/1 but I can't see him winning this....will be surprised if he does.
