Cheltenham Bumper 2019

...I know most of you guys don’t get hung up on trends, but from what I can see of recent Champion Bumper winners, none made their seasonal debuts this late.

I hate this race. It's pants!

Here's a trend for you. Whatever Mullins runs, back the outsider on the day.

Last 2 years I have ended up on the slightly bigger price mares and that seems to have worked so think I might have to do that again :highly_amused:

Do we have any idea who Master Debonair was bought by yet? Also is he still with Tiz?

100% still with Tizzard. The only information I have is that the owners sold 80% but I’m not sure who to. That was from Twatter so I don’t know how reliable it is but seemed to come from someone who knows the original owners.

I can only think of Cue Card, Monsignor and Champagne Fever as winners of this race that have gone on to be decent animals, and the race has been going 25+ years now ?

But, the race has produced a number of outstanding horses, especially stayers, in later life.
Champagne Fevers win I know had The New One, Jezki and Many Clouds...

your forgeting the mighty Moon Racer :highly_amused:

not to mention Montelado, Dato Star and Florida Pearl.

Eden de houx still on track for this? My only play in the race so far aside from the mythical energumene!

Cheers. They actually have a couple of ‘Russian’ horses that I’ve had on my Cheltenham radar. Russian Hawk I felt ran a great race at the weekend with the Albert Bartlett in mind. He’s inexperienced and may not even run but he could go well at a big price. Russian Doyen is could also go well in be Close Brothers Handicap, he’s currently on 138 so could sneak in at the bottom. He did throw a stinker in this season at Cheltenham though.

...a little odd that Eden de Houx isn’t included in Hills market for this race.

Only betfair & Paddy got him priced up

...no, for some reason it’s listed twice on Oddschecker. Most bookmakers have it priced but not Hills.

Spelling difference between PP/Betfair and the rest I believe.
