National Hunt Chase (4 miler) 2019

Ah that was when O'Leary said it's the worst horse he owns.

Can I just say I was on Rathvinden before both of ye :P

I met Willie leaving Listowel in Sept and he told me back him for the 4miler, he wasn't even listed in the betting.

Nothing like a bit of aftertiming after he'd already been put up. :highly_amused:

Iv added malldini aswell at 33s with cashback.

Fav for this before he switched to the Kim Muir.
Plenty of experiance. Very good course form. Rated 149 and won't be going for the Kim Muir again. Reappearance was fine.

Good discussion gents, After I posted I also asked for prices on both the horses I mentioned. Like Scooby said they came back with 25/1 for Glenloe which I have backed and 150/1 on Pallasator but you need to ring them to put that on.

I have Rathvinden down for the National but if he rocks up here I will be on as I do like that horse. Thing is will he run potentially a gruelling 4 miles here then the same again a few weeks later over the national fences. Would be some ask that.

Rathvinden can’t run in this again as it’s for novices isn’t it?

I asked 365 for a price on Glenloe for this 2 weeks ago and they only offered 25/1. Im not a taker yet. We'll have a better idea after the Christmas period for sure. Mall Dini interesting as well.

40 pts on a "novelty" bet.

Wouldn't bother putting the work into ante post punting if I was throwing points away like that :p

Wasn’t doing a great deal of antepost then
Much more NRNB
Novelty or not
In a three runner race 5-2 was ridiculous with corals about 2 months prior
If anyone offered 2-1 or above for Ireland again I’d make it my biggest bet ever

This made me chuckle on a Twitter

“The year is 2028:

Annamix is favourite for the Supreme and Mall Dini has just finished 3rd in the Mall Dini Beginners Chase at Gowran Park.”

Without wishing to get too pedantic on this but if my memory serves me correctly I thought it was Folksi’s info which he posted very early on here was the reason I was on Rathvinden at 25s

This is what I seemed to recall, though haven't checked backed on the previous thread, not that it matters an awful lot who 'mentioned' a horse first as I ignored the pair of you and in doing so lost out :highly_amused::highly_amused:

He posted that a while after I put it up. So would have helped if he put it up first and was still 25s. Hence why I mentioned aftertiming.

Which there could be a whole thread for on here.

Iv respect for anyone who puts there antepost bets up before they run regardless of the 'result. Much easier to have a big price once theyve already already shortened and ran. Less so beforehand.

I don't mean folski here in anyway.

I was going to say the same last night but didn’t want to stir the pot :highly_amused:

It was his comment about meeting Willie at Listowel and getting a very early nod at the 4miler that obviously along with his grade 1 form convinced me.

You were the first to post about Rathvinden.

On after timing.

I have a simple rule I try and follow. If I post a bet (rarely), then I feel I can celebrate in the forum if it wins. If I don't post my bet (mostly) I will happily keep quiet.

We are all trying to make a few quid. It is not a competition. :)

I agree.

But I'm also a competative tw*t. And I did put it up first. Iv checked 2 pages earlier :highly_amused:

I do hate aftertiming though. (Again I'll stress nothing do do with folski, he still put it up pre race )

I don't find the after timing that bad on here, relative to twitter.

Twitters horrendous for it. Much worse than here.
Can put up a pic of a horse from the 1980s and someone backed him at 500/1 as a foal to win the derby.

I avoid twitter for that reason.

I really like it when people make a case, because even if I strongly disagree, it validates theory and opinion and cam only help.

Its no different than reading 'spotlight' and disagreeing with it.

Betfair Forum good for calling people out on aftertiming and not much else these days.

On a similar vein didnt happen of the year on twitter has some gems (not betting related) :highly_amused: https://twitter.com/_dhotya?lang=en

back on topic I am liking the Glenloe call ...
