Arkle 2019

I don't think you should worry about it... being able to react to a horse being injured is more timing and luck than anything isn't it?

USually they're best price to be fair but if it's a big difference I wouldn't go to 365

Fluidity is huge Imo. Being able to react to new evidence And cash it. Is a huge plus.

Ie last year on the blind side looked a cracking bet for the bartlett after he won at chelt. 10 minutes later he was going for the ballymore and you'd have done your dough.

Agreed, but too many singles placed elsewhere where the difference isn't that significant. Anyway no problems, all about improving as you go

I generally always check in on here through the day and early evening as well as other avenues of information so I put myself in the best possible position to get out of bets, 2 I've managed to so far, Hollowgraphic was a big one for me as I had very high hopes for him.

If it were to happen at say midnight then I'd have no chance, but I find the news being released that late highly unlikely.

I'm happy to take a hit on the price, provided it isn't ridiculous, if it means being able to cash out. I'd be a pretty poor place right now if I hadn't, that's for sure.

Yeah, case-by-case, horse-by-horse.

Sometimes the price is worth the normal ante post risk.

I just don't think it's sustainable going forward long-term - but we'll all make the most of it while we can

Thats bad news on Drac hopefully nobody here burnt too bad.
Ive took Scooby advice and went back in on CE, fingers crossed hes the one.

Getabird starting over 2m too was an interesting comment... wouldn't ignore scooby on that either

I've also gone in on CE now. Already had the 'any race' but added couple of small multi's with him in now too.

Only just noticed draconien is out. Haddnt read that far back. Unfortunate for the ones who were on him. Unfortunately we'll all get hit at some point.

The obscurity with the Bet365 cash out option is they are very slow to remove it. I had no problems getting out just now.

Evening chaps, I was there sunday and whilst Lalor was very impressive i'm curious as to what others on here make of it. The RP have assigned him an RPR of 160 and looking at the past few arkle winners RPR after there first start its looking pretty compelling.
Footpad - 146
Altior -160
Douvan -153
Un De Sceaux- 149(fell) 151 completed
Western warhorse -130 (poor year and apolgies for the mention:devilish:)
Simonsig-145
Sprinter Sacre -154
Captain Chris -151
Sizing Europe - 132

That does seem high, Altior had already stepped out of Novice company the season before hadn't he hence his higher rating.

I did question how the form will work out a few posts back, 160 seems massive - but I was very very taken with the run.

I think it's solid form indeed,at this stage of season at least, but to be fair to the others they probably didn't make there debuts in as strong a race so didn't really have the opportunity to post as strong a figure.
But Lalor did, and did it well.

Yeah some started in beginners chases or low level novice events so achieving a 150+ was a good starting point, Whoever won on Sunday in such a race always likely to be high140s/low 150s but 160 seems to suggest a top horse ? Saying this Brain Power achieved 162 on his first start last season and ill say no more on him !

Altior achieved 160 on chase debut in what was a match off with Black Corton, he did enter open company the start before the Arkle At Newbury slamming Fox norton and couple of other less god like horses.

Ah yeah, sorry you're absolutely right.

The same rating as Altior seems bonkers though

I liked what I saw of Lalor. Looked a natural over fences. Maybe not value now (that could be small trainer bias) but well done to those on at bigger prices.

Labaik at 50-1 would be interesting if confirmed chasing. Think i read somewhere hes back in and recovered from injury.

I’m fingers crossed Labaik stays hurdling, my second biggest winner of the festival (behind Black Hercules at 380/1!) for the Champion Hurdle

100% HF....I’ll be getting on as soon as I hear he’s race fit/entered up! He passed Melon on the bridle in there Supreme! Even his Punchestown CH run was very good for a novice considering he had picked up a serious injury in racing!

A prep race or two across the Irish Sea would make sense given his reluctance to kick off in Ireland without the long whip.
