Arkle 2019

Cilaos Emery still isn’t priced up with pp and bf scooby. Was it you that mentioned previously that they did the same with Footpad last year? If so when did they add him?

Same as footpad. They Added him straight to the market AFTER his novice chase

Any new news on CE? Backed 'any race' with Ladbrokes too, but was hoping for something by now. Just wondered why you went in again?

Ruby mentioned him and Willie In the RP tour in recent weeks, put him up as a dark horse.

In again because I can't stop backing him. He's a ridiculous price. He'll be the highest rated hurdler going chasing this season. And I think he'll improve for a fence.

Doesn't that make it advisable to wait until he's declared to run in a beginners before taking the plunge?

Fair enough mate.

I'm in already. Would love to see at least an entry, some big meetings coming up so hopefully see something then and then may go in again myself.

Draconiens out. He's already top priced 20s for the arkle. I can't see the 28s being there at all. As soon as that news is caught on.

Too slow though. Looks more a JLT type.

I had that comment about footpad last season too. Diddnt stop me taking the 33s arkle.

He's running in grade 1 open class 2m hurdles. Bang in line with the horse that finished 3L behind in the champion hurdle. You'd have to be on drugs to think he's slow.

On a side note, I've just noticed CE's sire has the same dam sire as Breaken ;) Just in case you weren't persuaded the first time on him :highly_amused:

20s across the board now. Noticed Blacktype have pushed out Mengli Khan to 20s might go in again.

Gone back in on cilaos emery at 28s. Trying to single handedly bankrupt Ladbrokes.

The draconien news hasn't filtered through yet. Only PP BF seem to have heard. If you've an arkle fancy now's the time.

Scooby - CE didn't exactly blow us away last season. Thoughts on why you'd be happy to forgive mediocre runs, 2nd behind Mick Jazz? I'm ignoring ratings for the moment.

Mick jazz was 3L behind in the champion hurdle. 2 miles over hurdles theyre easily tied in.

Last year's arkle.
1st ran in previous years champion hurdle
2nd ran in previous years champion hurdle
3rd ran in previous years champion hurdle
2nd fav injured and now winner of the scloer chase in open company sceau royal, ran in previous years champion hurdle.

Cilaos emery form is as good as any of them and he looks a chaser all over.

Theres a gulf in class between novice hurdles and grade 1s in open company his 2 runs Last year were more than satisfactory we all know mullins dosent have them tuned to the grills early season and he's ran to a mark of 159 that's lovely form.

Mick Jazz's rating is inflated. No way is that a 162 horse. Mick Jazz travelled all over it. Cilaos Emery best win was against Melon. First off the bridle and Melon/Pingshou cut each others throats. Don't think it has a chance in an Arkle.

Basically if he improves a single pound on his official rating for a summer on his back to strengthen up and a fence. (He's a scopey individual) then He's right at the top of the arkle. And that's if your taking lalors rpr seriously. (Looks a silly one to me)

Then don't back him. Watch and enjoy. You clearly don't rate champion hurdles.

Care to enlighten us on your fancy for the arkle?

Scooby say what you mean!!! Your really saying Kalashnikov is the worst price horse in the antepost market at the festival and youd be mad not to take him on lol

If we know CE is fit and well hes a crazy price for this.

I like kalashnikov I think he's a reasonable price. I just wont back antepost any horse that short. And I should have taken the 14s.

If you knew Cialos Emery was back to his best, I think its absolutely impossible to say he isnt a good bet at 28/1 myself.

Even if you considered him 'slow' he's still 28/1 'ANY RACE' which gives a lot of movement with regards to target.

I must admit my concern is his well being but I'm amazed anyone would think Champion Hurdle form is not worthy of respect & consideration. I don't pay too much to ratings myself, but the form lines are there.
