Also I'd be very surprised if LIT doesn't get the Gold Cup trip. He ran over 2m4 for most of last season and was crying out for more. Since going upto 3m he's routed a field including the RSA winner then put one of the most impressive jumping performances of the season in his next run over 3m

In 2015 Cue Card won the Charlie Hall chase 1st time up recording an rpr of 167. He then won the betfair chase recording an rpr of 178 21 days later. He then won the King george recording an rpr of 180. He had the gold cup at his mercy before falling.


Next season Cue Card was 3rd in charlie hall recording an rpr of 165 before hacking up in the betfair chase with an rpr of 176.

Elegant Escape recorded an RPR of 167 in the Charlie Hall. He was in need of the run and heavy. He will record an rpr of 174 to 180 in the betfair chase that looks a certainty. He is close to unbeatable at Haydock with a performance of that level which looks certain to happen.

True he met Native River but that was an ex gold cup winner whos career had caught up with him and who never won another race. He meets a horse in EE in career peak who will win this seasons gold cup.

Bristol has had a 30 race career with 20 graded races. He will do a Native River here (ie his career catches up with him). He has done great to be top level for so many races. this is one season too many however.

The team cannot wait to see what a fully fit and career peak legend does to this field. Many people will be silenced though we have no doubt they will xontinue to bury there heads in the sand and ignore the overwhelming greatness of the best staying chaser since Kauto Star.
