Today I've backed First In Line (1.50pm Newmarket).
I think he has a chance in the Ebor too at 25/1, though today could be a tall order with Communique's course form and his trainer Mark Johnston's legendary horse-fitness regime working brilliantly with 10 or more winners in the first 6 days of racing.

Trefoil is another one of interest in the Pretty Polly today and as an Oaks antepost prospect.
Well Raffle Prize didn’t give me the big win, but the other three I backed antepost finished 1, 2 & 3, so nice antepost payout for me at 25/1 on LOVE (I also had Quadrilateral @10s and Cloak of Spirits @33s).

I had never put so many bets on an antepost Classic, and I did feel vulnerable to a wipeout, as I mentioned in m earlier post.

My Oaks bet on Love @25/1 looks decent now, to go alongside Frankly Darling @33/1.

Trefoil ran on late in the Pretty Polly but the 33/1 Oaks market price looks right still given Love’s blitzing win.

First In Line ran a decent seasonal debut with an eye to the Ebor. 25/1 still available, and clipped into 20s in places.

              ————————————————

The 2 standout antepost prices I would point out, following on from today’s Newmarket races are both with Unibet.

Secret Advisor 50/1 for the Ebor (Unibet) after a fast finishing 2nd behind Dashing Willoughby when the only one carrying a 5lb penalty in the race.
The Ebor market reduced his price to 25s elsewhere and the 50’s is way too big.

He is a Godolphin 6yo Gelding (on the comeback trial after 2 years off) only had eleven runs and won twice over the Ebor distance in Meydan in a Listed and Group 3 at the start of this year.
His form is well worth a look on the Racing Post site, and rewatch the video of today’s race.
I’m sure that price will go quickly.

Love at 33/1 for the St Leger (Unibet). The Oaks was always going to be her race this year, so taking over 4 lengths out of the 1000 Guineas field on rising ground was so impressive.
Only two firms quote her for the St Leger, B365 go 12’s and Unibet 33’s.

I’m sure both firms don’t think she will go to Donny, but if she wins the Oaks she could easily take in the St Leger and bid to be the first Triple Crown winner for nearly 40 years
(Camelot narrowly failed, so it does show they are willing to give it a go)

The race programme could allow it:-
              Oaks 4th July,
Irish Oaks 18th July (if they want to go again quickly)
              St Leger 10th September,
and the Arc weekend 3 weeks later.

Her time was spectacular when compared with the rest today, she isn’t quoted in the Arc market yet but she could be worth a bet in that too if Aidan’s 3yo colts don’t step up, as he only has Japan (12/1) below 33/1.

Going to be a quiet day for me with just the one bet. WHEELS OF FIRE 5:05 Naas. Looks overpriced on what he’s done and would likely be shorter if trained by someone else. 12/1 available but I’ve gone for 11/1 with 4 places. Some good watching briefs at Naas today.

It only matters if he wins mayo .
Hopefully he goes well. I'll start looking at tomorrow's shortly.

                          • Interesting money for
                            Golden Valour 4-30 Navan tomorrow.
The Irish bookies have it a lot shorter .
Took the 9-1 Sky 4pts win.
I think the run at dundalk showed that a drop in trip and a decent draw here means it has a decent chance.
21 runners though so won't be easy.

                            • Right i don't delve into the flat much and only really cross reference form for a bet now and again but find myself enjoying these 72 hour decs and trying to keep top side for a month or two with well hcapped runners. The Tom Clover yard for a small outfit have made a great start 4/8, and he uses Atzeni sparingly, but well and is 4/9 after today's win on Celsius for the yard. Thursday he has a horse called "Broughtons Gold" entered at Newbury in the 2.40 with Atzeni jocked, his last race on the Aw was average at best and doesn't excite too much, but his debut start on the turf (came 4th) increases enthusiasm some what. The horses are rated as such
                              1st 80
                              2nd 81
                              3rd 89
                              5th 90
                              6th 80 before going USA
                              7th 75
                              8th 89
                              9th 73
This lad has a mark of 71 and whilst this 6f on firm ground could be a tad sharp for him he looks well treated going forward.
                              Any thoughts flat rats ?

That's a race with a few worth watching going forward. The Lyons + Eoin Doyle horses especially. Could be two to do well in handicaps.

Army Recruit clearly has had his problems and won't be the same horse, but that maiden form is pretty hot. Trainer hasn't trained a winner in 5 yrs!
