I'm not so sure it's changed much either to be fair.
But I've seen Champion chases and grade one 2 mile chases be won by horses that weren't world beaters or favourites on the day, simply by going out and being positive and just getting into such a rhythm they become hard to pass. It's like the horse becomes hypnotised into finding more, but it's probably just great judgement of pace and brilliant jumping on the day that does it.

If you're a jockey on the best horse in behind it can build pressure to see one going so well in front, and you see it all too often that one little mistake then leads to another and before you know it you're getting desperate.

You are not sure why people would want a more exciting race?with a potential good jumping front runner that’s proven close to the 2nd fav this season being ridden differently??
      I find that strange myself

Love to see him at Cheltenham, but perspective also needed….that was prob only high150s or low 160s performance ? Need to run to a better level than he has ever done to win CC

                          lovely ride that

                          • Mullins edging towards Aintree and beyond for Ferny according to his interview with Gary O'Brien there on RTV. Cheltenham just too soon now, 17 days to the Champion Chase.
