Interesting to see how the Henderson novices do at Kempton tomorrow as the form of their maidens is fucking shite. So anything could happen.

I know they've said Caldwell Potter will be minded this year but you'd have to take him to Cheltenham after that. He's an improving sort and I'd say the Supreme would suit him, although I'm sure at least one would be too good. Elliott's got some novice team this year.
Ballyburn was very very good - easily a 150 performance for me. His circuit time compared well with State Man and he's done it no bother.
Jetara and Jade De Grugy both put up good performances for the Mares Novice. Jetara put up arguably the best rating so far but the others have more scope. Jade De Grugy was phenomenal on debut - I'd say she's right up there with Brighterdaysahead. The step back down would be no bother. I think this year's mares novice division is easily the best we have seen from a depth point of view. Hopefully see some of them chasing next year and others in the 2m open division and mares hurdle division to go with the Mullins 5 year olds and get some good depth in that division.
Agree on Jade + the mares novice division

Nicky didn't really want to run Willmount over 2 1/2 but as he's the more experienced/forward of the two (Jeriko) then he's running in the Challow as opposed to Jeriko. Ideally they'd like to have stuck to 2m but both needed to run and running then against each other prior to the Fez isn't an option.

Can’t say for sure of course, but this looks to me that Willmount is Ballymore bound.
Jeriko is definitely Supreme if he’s good enough.

Shishkin ran over 2 miles around Xmas and again in Jan, and only went Sydney Banks as they wanted another race for him prior to the Supreme.
Does anyone know if Hendo has ran one of his good Supreme contenders in the Challow? as I’m struggling to find one.
On a selfish note I’m ok whatever he runs in, but l Would be a tad concerned if I only had him for Supreme.

It's unusual but this is the first year without the Kennel Gate which he usually would have used. So he may be using the Challow instead.
It will be interesting if this impacts on race planning. He usually keeps unbeaten horses at 2m for the Supreme and doesn't split them. He doesn't like to change a winning formula. But it's unusual for him to run unbeaten horses 2m4 so might he then think that's a winning formula and send Willmount to the Ballymore? I'm not sure either way right now.

He's going to be right one way or another as he's said both races now and will backtrack to whichever one suits.
Nicky has won the Challow twice, Champ went to the Ballymore and Captain Cutter went to the Bartlett, and unfortunately lost his life.
I think it's still up in the air but I believe Nicky has Jeriko & Jango Baie for the Supreme so it may fit that Willmount goes out in trip. I think he'd have a chance in either tbh, as much as it would pain me to see his owner with a winner!

Yep, no matter what's been said and by who.
Unless the owner has final say and has his money down ?
Should he win the race today impressively enough over 2m 4f on Soft ground against the best novice field of the season in the UK, then it's a difficult argument to come back to the supreme, unless it turns up heavy on the day, and the race cuts up for some reason.
With this entry, you'd have to be concerned as a supreme backer, and this can sometimes result in some wild and imaginary self consoling thoughts.
My guess is that he's not good enough at either trip

I find the odds of The Jukebox man somewhat tempting.
The Only horse to beat him is actually an aeroplane so really he's unbeaten against actual horses.
The soft ground is going to play to his strengths.
In his ptp he beat cleatus poolaw who has finished 2nd to ballyburn(now fav for ballymore) and daddy long legs, i know the distances beaten are somewhat different but he beat him pretty easy too.
Ok he's not really beaten anything but have the others?
Tellherthename was a massive flop boxing day at aintree and I think that's being factored in to his price.
But 25/1 is huge for this horse, i know it's a competitive race but he's surely overpriced, i'd have him 10-12/1
Maybe i'm missing something

No idea on the Challow but good to see for the first time in a few years so much depth in the British novice hurdle division. The Formby was a good race and the Challow looks a good race.
Captain Teague if jumping better will be hard to beat. Jumping and coming down the wrong side, plus the weight difference, got him beat last time. I don't think Minella Missile would beat him again over the mid trip. Willmount and Johnnywho look like they've got plenty of talent but need to be seen in a proper race. Lookaway's form is good - will the step up in trip bring more improvement? Masaccio's not a bad horse. Tough race.
Hoping Casa No Mento wins well today and proves her credentials for a hot looking mares novice. Not a fan of Queen's Gamble and CNM put up a good performance for me last time. 50/1 with Bet365 for the Mares Novice Hurdle at the moment but already took the 40s after her last race.
