    Agree.

    Posted them in the bookie specials but they aren't special are they!

    They're right on Honeysuckle. A feckin dual Champion Hurdle winner not defending her crown. Mental. This sport is in the bin.

    Matt Chapman absolutely spot on here versus Codd.

      Was very much in agreement a few weeks ago, but I’ve kind of mellowed now, and will be happy if she goes out a winner.

        Brainwashed IMO

        Her going out with a win? Who cares? Grade 1 in name only.

        Don't care how deep the Mares race looks, get rid of it and the Champion Hurdle has Epatante and Honeysuckle in.... 3 time winners.

        Stayers gets Marie's Rock....

        The others have to slot in.

        Big picture. It's a fucking shambles isn't it?

                ….ATR Preview; Sean Boyce (SB), Matt Chapman (MC); Kevin Blake (KB); Jamie Codd (JC):

                Champ Hurd;
                JC - can’t knock CH.
                KB - fair to say CH is best. Likes State Man but he’s not as good as CH.
                MC - Epatante e/w NRNB @ 33-1 if she turns up, but probably only one place behind CH & SM
                SB - Not so Sleepy e/w in w/o market.

                Champ Chase;
                MC - Edwardstone.
                KB - Edwardstone should’ve won last time. Not sure Chelt is Energ track. Edwardstone.
                JC - White boards made a difference to Energ last time. He’ll go the CC & win it.
                SB - Hunch is Energ is the best.

                Stayers;
                KB - HBTL tricky to work out, pessimistic about him. Picks Teahupoo. Asterion talented @ 40-1 (unlikely runner), not sure Marie’s will stay.
                JC - Ground only worry for Teahupoo but its wide open & he also loves FP.
                MC - Flooring Porter, massively overpriced.
                SB - Likes Marie’s.

                GC
                JC - Conflated will run, could run a great race. Worry about GDC jumping early in the race. Could be a great race.
                KB - Could go wrong early for GDC but thinks he could be a superstar. Likes Stattler as an alternative.
                MC - GDC bombproof. Minella Indo e/w.
                SB - Conflated.

                AB
                SB - Saint Palais 100-1 (Charity Bet selection).

                SB - Jonbon

                BANC
                KB - Real Wacker underestimated.

                MC - Thyme Hill, much classier than Gerri.
                SB - Gerri.

                Turn
                JC - MP very classy. GC horse for next year.

                JC - GDM is different class.

                XC
                JC - Galvin loads of schooling. Drying ground, he's way good enough to win it.
                MC - Delta Work.

                      Possibly the dumbest comment from any preview evening yet,and that's from some stiff competition,go back and watch what happens to Energumene at the last fence in the Clarence House,when they go left or right on take off and are forced not to they take off all wrong,such a tactic wouldn't stop the habit,it'd just make his & the jockeys job much harder.

                        BUT..... .when someone says "they have to give her weight"...... David Nolan said it on the RaceHour preview..... about Marie's Rock, for the Stayers. IT'S FUCKING IRRELEVANT! There is no piece of form where that isn't the case, so it's just irrelevant. If at some point she ran and then she got an EXTRA 7lbs, amazing.... but it's not.

                        Stop fucking saying it. It makes literally no difference. Saying it is the dumbest thing in horse racing.

                            There wouldn't be a person in the room who doesn't know that in that grade all mares get 7lb from the geldings either,yet they say it like it's some hidden gem they've been keeping up their sleeve for just the right moment.

                            Honestly I used to enjoy when the previews began as it meant we was within weeks of the festival but it's become an industry of it's own,bit of easy money for an hour or so trotting out shit like "she gets 7LBS here" or "To stop him jumping right we're going to glue a horse to his shoulder" or some such nonsense, they offer so little now that the effort to hear that one interesting view isn't worth the hassle anymore.

                            I should go back to drinking in the evenings, I used to be much more jovial around 11pm,honest.

                            • Sean Boyce picking American Mike as his Ballymore selection is up there in the absurd comments stakes.

                              Can't remember from last year but when bigger priced horses tipped in these preview nights get hammered in at the time, do they generally end up drifting back out over the next couple of weeks to the previous ish prices? Kicking myself a bit cos there was a horse I was gonna cover that was roughly 70s on exchange and forgot to go back and cover it today, been mentioned once and now its in the mid 20s range.
