Would you actually fancy her for a Mares Hurdle?!

What has she ever done to make anyone fancy her for anything!


(Apart from me fancying and backing her today!) - she is a shit house.

Probably not no was just saying she doesn't seem to have that finishing speed she used to for 2 miles any more and 3 miles would be a stretch for her. It would depend on price though I don't think she could win a Mares hurdle but she could place especially if some of the shorter priced mares go chasing. I would probably back her if she was 25s or bigger but I'm not keen enough to request a price.

Traders decide quickly whether to add or not.
They usually do.

I think she should. It’s an open division and her best form is over 3 miles. She’d take plenty of beating IMO. Whether she runs here is a completely different matter.

IMHO if she went stayers she would go very very close, question.marks over PP, with TH, FR and SDB surely in the mix going to be very competetive !

To be fair, Thistlecrack won the Stayers before that King George.... so the 'reverting' for him was a bit of an anomoly?

He was a superstar as well (like Big Bucks).

My point is, you have to be fucking fantastic to revert to hurdles after going chasing, and although you haven't named one, I just don't know who it could possibly be that was good enough.


I'd be really surprised if any novice chaser won the Stayers... ever!

Lisnagar oscar went novice chasing at the start of last season and won the stayers

though it was his only win of the season and a borderline fluke with PP having those serious health issues during the race

I only noticed because I was looking through the runners in todays intermediate chase at Carlisle

And noticed that on chase debut black op beat lisnagar oscar by 33 lengths

Absolutely. If, as expected , she goes straight to the Fez without a run then it will be a straight toss between the Mares Hurdle again (boring) and the Stayers. She is 100% a better horse over 3 miles so let her take her chance. It's there for the taking. You only have to look at last season's winner to see that. Benie would smash LO. I wouldn't back Benie in the Mares Hurdle even without Honeysuckle. I still think she'd find one too good. However, I would back her in the Stayers. In fact, I did yesterday in a double with Honeysuckle (Churdle). 0.5 pt double @ 152/1.

Benie could send up in any 5-6 races, so yeah, there is a live chance she could end up in the stayers

Agree 100% BUT i really hope honey does try and retain her crown although the CH is in their thoughts apparantly. I do think she would have a great chance in the stayers as last year was a close decision between MH and Stayers for Benie by all accounts and it could well be her last festival.
